    We're looking for someone educated and skilled, capable of managing clients, teams, and carrier relationships. They should handle everything from client servicing to renewals, including negotiating, processing audits, endorsements, and managing claims. Experience in various commercial lines like property, liability, workers' comp, etc., is a must. The candidate should hold an active property and casualty license and aim to pursue further insurance education for personal and professional growth.

    The ideal candidate will excel in client management, team coordination, and carrier relationships. They should be adept at handling all aspects of client accounts, from negotiations to renewals, including audits, endorsements, and claims. Experience in commercial lines like property, liability, and workers' comp across different industries is essential. A valid property and casualty license is required, with a commitment to pursuing additional insurance education for ongoing development.

    Job Responsibilities

    • The main responsibility is to fulfill the insurance needs of our internal team and clients.
    • Offer efficient and friendly service to clients, team members, carrier partners, and brokers to retain and expand our commercial lines portfolio.
    • Assess existing accounts for additional coverages and renew accounts as necessary.
    • Maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and company personnel.
    • Prepare thorough and accurate applications using the agency management system.
    • Utilize company website portals for quoting new business lines, requesting changes, and monitoring policy activities.
    • Keep a close eye on monthly expiration lists and follow up on activities for all assigned accounts promptly.
    • Keep customer files up to date, maintaining both paper/electronic records in Applied/EPIC.
    • Adhere closely to department policies and procedures, prioritizing work according to established guidelines.
    • Fulfill various duties and special projects as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree Preferred
    • Minimum 5 years managing middle-market commercial accounts.
    • Possess Property and Casualty license, meet bonding requirements.
    • Desired: CIC or CRM professional designation.
    • Proficient in insurance form and policy analysis.
    • Strong math skills; able to rate policies.
    • Excellent written and oral communication.
    • Available for regular and additional hours.

    • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Pleasant and friendly personality, focused on client needs.
    • Proficient with MS Office suite of products. (MS Word, MS Excel)
    • Must be initiative-taking and be able to work independently without close supervision.
    • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
    • Attention to detail, thorough and accuracy.
    • Professional work ethic.

    Additional Details

    The location of the role will be on-site in our Grand Rapids, MI office. Hours for the role is as follows - 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday – Thursday, 8:00am – 4:30pm Friday (Memorial Day through Labor Day we close at 4:00pm on Friday). This position primary responsibility is to provide superior customer service to our clients. No budget authority or direct reports.
