- Service existing clients needs: billing, coverage, process questions, process cancellations
- Ensure client has adequate insurance coverage and the policy matches coverage requested; review policies and endorsements for accuracy
- New business calls, screen and educate prospective clients
- Quote and issue new and renewal business
- Handle bond issues
- Provide first contact for new claim report; fax loss report to carrier
- Enter, check and close out follow-up items regarding marketing new and renewal accounts
- Handle communication with clients and carriers by telephone, fax and email in a prompt, efficient, and polite manner
- Obtain renewal information for current carrier, assess underwriting issues, and collect data from insured
- Build relationships within agency and with carriers
- Issue insurance certificates
- Compose word documents (letters, proposals, memos, etc.)
- Document activities, conversations, and coverage issues electronically
- Provide back up for other Account Managers
- Prioritize mail; distribute and/or respond in a timely manner
- Comply with organizational policies and procedures, including code of conduct and attendance policy
- College education or 2-3 years agency experience
- Property and Casualty License
- CISR Designation desirable
- Maintain knowledge of industry such as new product information, coverage, and technology to stay current and fulfill continuing education requirements
- Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, database management, email, and data entry skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize with numerous interruptions
- Ability to accurately complete basic math calculations, including equations with decimals and fractions
- Ability to problem solve
- Organizing and coordinating skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personality types
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
