    Finance Manager

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Reporting: Overseeing the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP).
    • and Forecasting: Collaborating with senior management to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring actual performance against budgeted targets, and providing insights for decision-making.
    • Analysis: Conducting financial analysis to assess the organization's financial performance, identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, and presenting findings to management.
    • Coordination: Liaising with external auditors to facilitate annual audits or reviews, providing necessary documentation and support, and addressing audit findings or recommendations.
    • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, overseeing the preparation and filing of tax returns (e.g., income tax, sales tax), and managing relationships with tax authorities.
    • Management: Monitoring cash flow, optimizing cash positions, and overseeing banking relationships, including cash forecasting, investment decisions, and debt management.
    • Receivable and Payable: Supervising accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring timely billing and collections, efficient processing of vendor invoices, and adherence to payment terms.
    • Systems Management: Overseeing the implementation and maintenance of financial systems (e.g., ERP software), ensuring data integrity, user training, and system upgrades as needed.
    • Management and Development: Training and managing accounting staff, assigning tasks, setting performance expectations, conducting performance evaluations, and providing ongoing coaching and development.
    • Policy Development: Developing and updating financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, mitigate risks, and improve operational efficiency.
    • Planning: Providing financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, such as investment opportunities, business expansion, or cost-saving initiatives.
    • Projects: Leading or participating in special projects or initiatives, such as system implementations, process improvements, or mergers and acquisitions, as assigned by senior management.

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • of Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant accounting experience. This experience may include progressively responsible roles in accounting or finance, such as senior accountant, financial analyst, or assistant controller.

    • Skills: Strong technical accounting skills and proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis are essential. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP)
    • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for an Accounting Manager role. Candidates should be able to analyze financial data, identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, and provide actionable insights to senior management

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is typically required. However, employers may prefer candidates with advanced degrees such as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a master's degree in accounting or finance.

    Certifications: Preferred certifications include Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA). These certifications demonstrate a high level of expertise and commitment to the accounting profession.

    • Experience: Strong preference is given to candidates with previous managerial experience in accounting or finance roles. This includes experience supervising and leading accounting teams, setting goals, managing performance, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
    • Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems is highly preferred. Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite, as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, is often required.
    • Reporting and Analysis: Preferred candidates should have extensive experience in financial reporting, analysis, and interpretation of financial data. This includes preparing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
    • Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements is essential. Preferred candidates should be familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and relevant regulatory frameworks
