    Job Summary:


    • Within the Fiscal Operations, Data Strategy, and Systems team, this position will:

    • Support the advancement of software and applications used for child nutrition programs within the Health and Nutrition Services (HNS);

    • Work collaboratively with HNS teams and ADE development teams to act as subject matter expert to assist in testing for new or modified software programs;

    • Perform acceptance testing to validate that HNS requirements are met, create user guidance, and assist customers with system questions and issues; and

    • Process, document and coordinate resolution of internal and external service requests.

    • Occasional in-state and rare out-of-state travel is required for this position.

    The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.

    Job Duties:


    • Responsible for maintaining advanced knowledge and tracking of technology systems maintained by HNS and ADE including available data sets applicable to internal HNS and HNS operators

    • Assists with development and design of new and established child nutrition systems, participating in development of test plans, reviewing data for accuracy, and developing system processes

    • Participates in review and development of business requirements and application designs

    • Communicates business area work flows by creating flow charts and detailed process descriptions

    • Responds to and troubleshoots errors experienced in child nutrition program systems

    • Submits help desk tickets, and coordinates resolutions of service and assistance with the appropriate IT team

    • Assists in the composition of user manuals to guide customers in using child nutrition program platforms; updates and makes needed changes in maintenance of manual

    • Provides customer service to internal and external customers providing support and expertise of system functions

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

    Knowledge in:

    • Software development life cycles

    • Quality assurance and user acceptance testing

    • Data gathering and cleaning techniques

    • Business requirements gathering techniques

    • Technical writing

    • A Bachelor's degree in computer systems, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience to substitute for the degree, is required

    Skills in:

    • Strong written and verbal communication, including social perception and adaptability, to be able to successfully interface with internal and external stakeholders and audiences

    • Communicating technical concepts clearly

    • Customer service

    • Problem-solving

    • Developing and writing technical documentation

    • Analytical skills to evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and consolidate details and extract to functional requirements

    • Advanced skill in using in using Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook, and TEAMs

    • Basic skill in using Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint

    Ability to:

    • Complete software testing using established procedures

    • Balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks

    • Effectively communicate complex system-level details to diverse audiences

    • Absorb highly technical, specialized knowledge related to federal and state regulations

    • Assess the expectations of projects and implement effective technical solutions

    • Collaborate successfully in a team environment and across the division

    Retirement:

    You will be required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) upon your 27th week of employment, subject to waiting period. On or shortly after, your first day of employment you will be provided with enrollment instructions and effective date.
