Provides oversight and leadership within Integrated Oncology Phoenix site. Manages overall site operations, quality, compliances, customer expectations, and financial responsibilities and activates.

 

  • Create and oversee site’s annual budget plan for capital equipment and maintenance, operation expense, and staffing to support corporate objective and deliver operation results that meets corporate financial goal
  • Develop site operating model and staffing plan to optimize operation and services that accomplish work objectives and achieve corporate goal

Single handedly built the entire Flow Cytometry lab from ground up to transform Integrated Oncology’s Flow lab operation from California to Phoenix branch with aggressive timeline and within budget. Successfully validated and implemented comprehensive Flow test menu and built a management structure and competent technical support teams to ramp up 24x7 operational services to meet clients’ requirement and corporate’s quality goal. Developed a comprehensive technologist development program to train and grow Flow technologists/Analysts. Maintained excellent TAT in Flow test to exceed client expectation. Implemented and conducted process improvements and cost containment initiatives in various departments like Flow, Molecular, Cytogenetic, FISH, IHC etc.

 

  • Oversee all aspects of operations and development in Flow Cytometry and Integrated Oncology Phoenix site.
  • Forecast, plan, and maintain department budgets and funding, and identify cost avoidance opportunities to improve operation affordability
  • Hire and train all technologists and supervisors. Develop employee training program and identify career development opportunities. Deliver employee performance reviews and improvement areas for continued growth.
  • Establish and maintain lab quality control process to meet regulatory requirements and standards. Identify and implement continued quality and efficiency improvement processes. 
  • Standardize and streamline workflow processes to reduce waste and deliver measurable improvements in overall operational efficiency.
  • Drive engagement in cost saving containment. Identified and implemented over 50 cost containment initiatives since 2014 and saved over $500K in reagents, consumables and personnel costs.

Flow Cytometry and Esoteric Technical Specialist                                            2008 to 2013

 

Technical authority in all aspects of Flow Cytometry operations. Successfully configured and implemented the Flow Cytometry and Esoteric departmental clinical software interface with corporate Laboratory Information System (LIS). Collaborated with third-party software provider to upgrade in Maternal department’s clinical software to Maciel Prenatal Interpreter and streamline its integration with LIS, resulting in significant efficiency and performance improvement in TAT and Maternal Screen reports. Designed one easy platform that combined all 4 second trimester markers for Maternal Screen testing which eliminated manual entry steps, reduced clerical errors, and one full time headcount reduction. Provided technical development, in-service and training for technologists, residents, and pathologists. Acted as laboratory liaison to internal and external physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide consultation and align on research results.

 

 

 

System Technical Specialist                                                                             2006 to 2008

 

Responsible for laboratory wide system QC and QA programs to maintain compliance to CAP guidelines and operation excellence. Department Lead on Six Sigma initiative to identify and implement process improvements using Six Sigma principles. Certified inspector for CAP in multiple discipline checklists since 2006. Conducted numerous peer group inspections for CAP throughout US.
