    Job Description
    Under general supervision, the 5174 Administrative Engineer performs professional duties.
    Essential duties include but are not limited to all or some of the following:

    Reviews and analyzes technical reports related to the cleanup activities at the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard and Treasure Island and interprets the information and provides recommendations.

    Reviews and analyzes information related to soil and ground water cleanup activities as they relate to chemical and radioactive contamination and makes recommendations to elected officials, commissions, city departments and the public.

    Schedules and manages meetings related to certain negotiations on environmental cleanup issues and property transfer. Prepares agendas, participates in discussions, and maintains action item lists.

    Attends community meetings and answers questions from the general public related to the on-going cleanup activities at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard Superfund Site and Treasure Island.

    Prepares a wide variety of technical and administrative reports on engineering projects, proposed legislation and planning affecting engineering projects and programs.

    Coordinates with the EPA, DTSC and Regional Board around oversight of technical issues related to site mitigation and cleanup activities.

    Assembles data and information and coordinates with the City Attorney's Office, Office of Community Investment, and Infrastructure, SFPUC and other agencies.

    Prepares a wide variety of technical and administrative reports on engineering projects, proposed legislation and planning affecting engineering projects and programs.

    Prepares a wide range of correspondence and reports relative to complaints and requests for information on various engineering projects and programs; investigates complaints referred by city officials and outside agencies and reports on findings and proposed course of action to resolve such complaints.

    The 5174 Administrative Engineer performs other duties as assigned/required.
    Qualifications


    EDUCATION:
    Requires completion of a four-year college or university with a baccalaureate degree in one of the major fields of engineering;


    AND

    EXPERIENCE :
    Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the administrative, design, planning, and construction of engineering projects, including two years of responsible supervisory and administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience;


    AND

    EXPERIENCE :
    Three (3) years of current and verifiable experience in soil and groundwater assessment;


    AND

    LICENSE :

    Possession of a valid current California engineer's license issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs - Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists.

    Applicants must meet the minimum qualification requirement by the final filing date unless otherwise noted.

    Note on Experience :

    One year of full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week).

    Any overtime hours that you work above 40 hours per week are not included in the calculation to determine full-time employment.
