    We are recruiting a Payroll Coordinator for a well-funded nonprofit organization in Sacramento. This position will offer a majority remote schedule but will need to come onsite as needed. The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for supporting with an overflow of payroll transactions in a timely manner. This is a seasonal opportunity and a great chance to get your foot in the door with an amazing organization Pay: $50,000-$70,000

    The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of full cycle payroll experience, working knowledge of ADP or WorkDay, and experience managing pay cards is a plus.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Conduct thorough audits of timesheet data for biweekly payroll.
    • Ensure accuracy of timecard entries and work with supervisors to resolve any discrepancies.
    • Process termination requests through the Workday and ensure timely issuance of final pay.
    • Handle voids, manual checks, and payment adjustments.
    • Manage garnishments by responding to inquiries, distributing information to employees, and establishing garnishments as required.
    • Configure and maintain the HRIS system (Workday) to ensure smooth operation.
    • Review, update, and input necessary payroll information into the system.
    • Coordinate with the Worker's Compensation department to report wages accurately.
    • Oversee W-2 reconciliation processes.
    • Execute bi-weekly payroll procedures, including updating employee information, reviewing earnings, and generating payroll and financial reports.
    • Manage garnishment requests as needed.
    • Generate bi-weekly payroll deduction reports for the finance management team.
    • Prepare reports on employee hours for specialized clients.
    • Input bi-weekly retirement contributions into the system.
    • Foster internal and external relationships, representing the organization professionally and providing business development support where applicable.
    • Support team with additional projects and tasks as assigned.
    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
    • 3+ years of experience in Payroll, Accounting, or Finance is required.
    • Proficiency with ADP or WorkDay is required.
    • Experience managing pay cards is a plus.
    • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field is preferred. Payroll certification is a plus.
    • Experience processing payroll for 500+ employees.
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately with numerical data.
    • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
    • Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
    • General knowledge of accounting principles.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
