    Accounting and Payroll Coordinator

    The Accounting and Payroll Coordinator will ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions (Accounts Payable/Receivable) and payroll activities within OCH. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and payroll procedures.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Payroll:

    • Review timesheets for completion and accuracy before processing.
    • Process biweekly payroll utilizing the automated payroll system.
    • Ensure proper documentation and authorization has been provided for payroll changes.
    • Provide prompt, accurate, confidential, and cordial support with payroll questions and problems.
    • Provide continuous training to new hires, current staff and leaders on timekeeping system

    Assist with month-end and year-end close.Assist with financial and tax audits.

    Accounting (Back-Up):

    • Accounts Payable - Review all vendor invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment, enter, code cash disbursements (ACH) to appropriate general ledger accounts, process vendor invoices for assigned vendors in accounting software.
    • Accounts Receivable - Process cash receipts and deposits to appropriate general ledger accounts, disseminate deposit information to Billing department, complete transactions for month end closing.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Expertise in the following area, typically gained from 2+ years in an accounting/payroll capacity:
      • Basic Accounts Payable/Receivable
      • Ability to review and work with timekeeping systems
      • Understanding how wages, taxes and deductions are calculated
      • CA Payroll laws
    • Strong knowledge in MS Office.
    • Must possess excellent organizational skills and ability to handle details accurately and maintain confidentiality
    • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and able to shift priorities quickly.
    • Ability to work effectively and maintain composure under pressure of short deadlines and adapt to changes.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication.

    PREFERRED BACKGROUND

    • Associate degree in business/accounting or other related field.
