You'll have the ability to learn FI$Cal, fiscal policies and procedures, and intricate details about California's budgetary and legislative cycle, and experience first-hand how policy and administration come together to achieve results.
Under the direction of the Budget Manager (SSM I), the Budget Analyst performs complex technical budget work related to tasks that require coordination between multiple ASD units.
The tasks include coordinating on purchase order coding, generating reports, overseeing the Payroll Accounts Receivable (PAR) process by tracking items in FI$Cal and throughout the PAR business process, and taking lead in federal grants planning, reviewing chart field coding on purchase orders and approving, denying, or requesting changes to PO coding.
Prepares the more complex budget reports for program staff and management. Cross trains Budget staff on duties, tasks, and assignments. Directly assists staff and managers at CARB with local assistance authority and project costing tracking. Overtime may be required.You will find additional information about the job in the

Working Conditions
This position may be eligible for hybrid in-office work and in-state telework.
The amount of telework is at the agency's discretion and is based on the California Air Resource Boards' (CARB) current telework policy.
While the CARB may support telework, some in-person attendance is also required.- Position located in a highrise building.
- Requires being stationary, consistent with office work, for extended periods.
- Standard office environment (artificial lighting, controlled temperature, etc.)
- Daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone.
