    Director of Technology Development

    Los Angeles, CA

    The Opportunity:

    This key position is available at a Los Angeles wireless communications company, looking for a Director of Technology Development. The selected individual will have an essential role within the CTO's office, focusing on the following responsibilities:
    - Enhance government R&D funding within the company
    - Supervise the company's technology roadmap under the CTO's guidance
    - Collaborate with the CTO and VP of Engineering on the technical delivery of R&D programs
    - Contribute to the growth of the company's IP portfolio

    This role involves internal and external duties vital for the company's success across government and commercial sectors.

    Responsibilities
    - Engage with external funding entities and opportunities, and participate in networking events
    - Lead white paper and proposal development leading to contract awards
    - Collaborate with CTO and VP of Engineering to set technical priorities and roadmaps, assisting in their implementation
    - Take part in business development activities like experiments, demonstrations, and client meetings
    - Develop and oversee a diverse engineering team for both business development and program execution
    - Expand the company's IP portfolio through business development and execution efforts

    Qualifications
    - PhD in Electrical Engineering preferred, MS required
    - At least 7 years of relevant experience in wireless communication systems design post PhD, with RF sensing and signal analysis experience being advantageous
    - Proficiency in technical presentations, proposal writing, and technical reporting
    - Engagement with customers in the government sector
    - Hands-on management experience in wireless system design, familiarity with simulation tools like MATLAB and C
    - Knowledge in RF signal propagation, channel modeling, digital communications, RF sensing, signal analysis, machine learning, and related signal processing technologies with MIMO systems and mesh networking expertise considered a strong asset
    - Secret Clearance is favorable for involvement in occasional classified discussions and documents
