    Job Description

    Purpose of Role
    • Assist the Director of Human Resources and Assistant Director of Human Resources in all areas of employee and labor relations.
    Core Job Responsibilities
    • To comply with applicable collective bargaining agreements and relevant local labor unions as it pertains to hiring, transfers and promotions.
    • Responsible for all aspects related to the hiring of associates (i.e., advertisements, job postings, recruiting, interviewing, processing, transfers,)
    • Handle all employment applicant records in compliance with state laws.
    • Responsible for all internal associate transactions processes (i.e., promotion, transfer, performance review, termination).
    • Responsible for wage and salary, employment administration and payroll.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment practices and procedures.
    • Maintains associate and property Human Resource documents, records and files as required by government regulations and hotel policies and procedures.
    • Manage termination process and completes monthly turnover reports.
    • Provide services to associates in a friendly and caring manner.
    • Understand and actively participate in employees' relations activities.
    • Administer all visa-related processes and record keeping.
    • Liaised with job agencies, search firms.
    • Participate in special projects as assigned.
    • Maintain candidates pool for each position for future need.
    • Prepare/monitor Payroll Action Forms input/update ADP new hires, terms and daily changes to ensure accurate, up-to-date information is available for payroll and management.
    • Manage HR Perspective posting data changes, terminations, etc.
    • Conduct exit interviews, track trends and complete turnover report in an accurate, timely manner.
    • Represent the hotel in job career programs.
    • Workers Compensation -- submitting initial notice to insurance company, updating employee status, following up with employees, liaising with the Insurance Company on a daily basis.
    • Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of the duties and responsibilities of the HR Generalist.
    • In conjunction with leaders, collaborate in development and implementation of Safety and Risk Management program and initiatives.
    Scope of Role

    • The position is responsible for recruiting and hiring candidates and daily administration of various salary and oversee of benefits administration. Recommends and implements procedural/process changes.
    Education
    • College degree in hotel or business administration are required.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
    • Proven experience as an HR manager or similar role
    • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations
    Experience
    • Extensive experience in high volume luxury establishment. Experience in similar operational area for a minimum of three years.
    • Union experiences preferred, including working experience with New York labor union.
    • Ability to manage multiple project commitments in addition to day-to-day responsibilities.
    • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create, facilitate, and execute formal communication, presentation, and training programs in response to Human Resources needs.
    • Ability to work independently with limited supervision; understand when to escalate issues.
    • Seld-directed, motivated, and engaged; willing and able to commit the time necessary to accomplish Human Resources Manager performance expectations and objectives.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams including staff at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong customer-service orientation.
    • Possess strong interpersonal skills to engage positively and productively with others including departmental leaders.
    Functional Knowledge
    • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point and prior experience in any HR software program
    • Proficiency in ADP and ADP Workforce, Timesaver, SAP, I-9 verification
    • Knowledge in Collective Bargaining Agreement,preferably in IWA
    • Strong interpersonal skills required
    • Well organized and detail oriented
    • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
