    Program Manager

    Healthforce Center at UCSF
    Full Time
    76869BR
    Job Summary

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures; researches, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of issues.

Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Primarily deals with policies, programs and proposals which are complex in nature and diverse in scope. Develops new programs, policies or procedures for possible implementation.

The purpose of this position is to independently perform project management, communication, analysis, reporting, and dissemination activities for a variety of projects and programs at Healthforce Center at UCSF.

All projects relate to the people of health care and may include projects in several of our core work areas - research, evaluation, consulting, convening across health care sectors, and leadership development.

Equity has been woven throughout our work for twenty years and continues to be a primary thread in everything we do.

Under the direction of Healthforce Center senior leadership, faculty and/or Principal Investigators, this individual works with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels within an organization to ensure that the projects are implemented according to plan.

This position exercises broad project management responsibilities that require managing projects from start to finish - including coordinating all aspects of the work from once the scope of work has been signed until all deliverables are complete.

This individual works independently, receiving little direction regarding responsibilities for ongoing projects and general instructions on new project assignments, projects, and initiatives.

Activities conducted by the individual in this role include engaging internal and external stakeholders in the work and necessary processes; conducting qualitative or quantitative analyses to inform the work; writing and editing reports and other materials for dissemination that include context for the work, results, themes, key findings, summaries and/or recommendations; presenting work products or themes to internal and external audiences; and ensuring that the work is completed on-time and on-budget.

Our work is constantly evolving and comes with opportunities to work on different projects.

Sample projects and the work associated with this role include:

Review the scope of work for a consulting project on burnout among health care workers, propose an implementation plan; develop and manage a timeline for deliverables; communicate with staff, faculty and key stakeholders with questions, progress updates, etc.; conduct literature review and synthesize information into key themes and recommendations for review by senior leadership and submission to the client.

Create and implement a technical assistance portfolio (e.g., workshops, webinars with subject matter experts) for a network of health organizations across the state by supporting co-design sessions with participants, researching health care topics and emerging issues, identifying experts and exemplars from across the country through outreach, and iterating on TA concepts, content, and approach with multiple stakeholders, writing summaries of TA content, and running virtual TA events.

Execute on a leadership development program by coordinating and communicating with internal and external faculty, staff and participants to deliver program content; analyzing program evaluation results and recommend program changes to senior leadership; and sharing key learnings across Healthforce Center.

Participants of our programs vary and include physicians, nurses, community clinic leaders, other health care administrators, and more.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
