    Job DescriptionSalary: $100,000 - $110,000

Our presence in the market is forever growing and our product base expanding, causing a strong need for additional passionate and self-motived new business development professionals.

    The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the company's financial operations, including monitoring and evaluating day-to-day accounting activities. This position will be responsible for month end closing and the accurate and timely production of monthly financial statements as well as cash forecasting and maintaining compliance with Sales Tax regulations.

    This position reports directly to the company Controller.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Financial Reporting

    • Provide and present financial information for MBR.
    • Report monthly revenue by type and variance to plan.
    • Produce KPI Reporting
    • Actual to Budget/variance reporting
    • Debt Covenant reporting
    • Ad hoc spend reporting as needed.

    Financial Planning

    • Assist Controller with development and maintenance of the annual plan.

    Revenue

    • Review monthly revenue, investigate anomalies and make required accruals by BD6
    • Prepare monthly revenue Flash reporting by BD7.
    • Assure all Rev share payments are received monthly and accounted for properly.
    • Monitor monthly Refund / Cust Sat activity.
    • Coordination of sales data between Bolt On systems to ensure sales are accounted for in correct categories on financial statements.

    Month End Close

    • Production of monthly financial statements including P&L and BS according to schedule by BD11
    • Creation of month end JE's assuring proper documentation and approval
    • Review monthly transactions for prepaid activity and ensure proper accounting treatment.
    • Review of account activity and balances assuring proper GL classification including COGS vs Opex, BU classification, amortization of deferred costs, etc.
    • Maintain Lease Accounting
    • Monthly debt interest calculation and payments
    • Account for Monthly Points activity, maintain Revenue deferral entries.
    • Maintain Account Reconciliations including:
      • Asset accounts
      • Fixed Asset Schedules
      • Liabilities
      • Notes Payable
      • Prepaid and Amortization schedules.
      • Depreciation Schedules
      • Equity Accounts
    • Review of Brex employee credit card spend for compliance with policy. Report activity that does not comply with T&E guidelines.
    • Review any T&E spend that may occur outside of the Brex system.
    • Maintain monthly close checklist. Track monthly close progress against check list to ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with time frames.
    • Maintain monthly close files assuring proper documentation.

    Accounts Receivable

    • Approval of Bad Debt write off.

    Sales Commissions

    • Calculation of monthly commission payouts in accordance with plans.

    Treasury

    • Point of contact for Banking relationships
    • Rolling three month forecast, updated monthly

    Sales Tax

    • Monthly review of Sales tax collected, ensuring compliance with sales tax collection laws. Maintain relationship with external tax consulting firm.
    • Review for changes in Nexus.
    • Ensure Tax jurisdiction changes are applied to the billing system.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly & yearly sales tax returns.

    Financial Audit

    • Maintain documentation throughout year for annual audit.
    • Preparation of schedules required for audit - Midyear.
    • Preparation of schedules required for audit - End of year.
    • Provide requested information timely to Auditors.

    Other

    • Implement and monitor internal control processes.
    • Maintain annual Corp filings and payment of fees.
    • Review and payment of annual lease CAM charges.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principals
    • Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills
    • Strong analytical and reasoning abilities with superior numeric skills
    • Possess well-developed interpersonal and communication, verbal, and written skills.
    • Must be result and profit-oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations and perform multifaceted projects.
    • Must be highly motivated and have the ability to function independently and multi-task.
    • Must be detail-oriented.
    • Possess mindset for continuous process improvement.
    • Expert computer skills – proficient in Microsoft Excel, including financial formulas and complex financial workbooks.
    • Prior experience with Quick Books and a plus
    • Minimum bachelor's degree in accounting, combined with 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in Accounting/Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
    • Experience in a company with a subscription-based revenue model a plus.
    • Travel: up to 5%.
