    Description

    Summary

    This position is part of the Office of Management, Department of Energy. As a Program Manager, you will be the Director, Sustainability Performance Office and serve as the senior advisor for sustainability, reporting to the Director, Office of Management, coordinating, managing, reviewing, and implementing all Sustainability and Climate Science programs, projects, and actions for the office.

    Duties

    As a Program Manager, you will:

  • Serve as the Director, Sustainability Performance Office, which is a key member of the Office of Management senior leadership team.
  • Determine the financial and personnel resources needed to achieve mission objectives and support mission operations; identify the need for major organizational improvements and develop the requisite plans and directs implementing actions.
  • Oversee and direct the internal organization, staffing, policies, and personnel authorities required to carry out the responsibilities of the organization, including the recruitment of staff and technical experts necessary to ensure the success of the programs.
  • Work in support of Director to achieve consensus with other departmental elements on broad approaches to improving the sustainability of DOE operations and to meeting the requirements of legislation and Executive Orders.
  • Develop and implement program planning, strategy development and activities, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of program implementation and operations, and direct the development and dissemination of guidance, best practices, training, and other resources to support the Department's efforts to meet Federal sustainability goals.
  • Manage the development of formal, written department-wide sustainability plans and other sustainability-related documents as required by legislation and Executive Order, or as a result of recommendations of oversight organizations.
