JOB SUMMARY
This position is located in the D.C. Department of Corrections, Education, Programs, and Case Management Division, Resources to Empower and Develop You Center (READY Center).

The READY Center provides services to former incarcerated District of Columbia residents who can access services from Community Based Organizations.

This position functions as a Program Manager, responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and advising management on the development of the program's efficient and effective connections to comprehensive support services for returning citizen with quality assurance network programs/systems in place and to mitigate relapse/recidivism.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Manages, implement, and oversees the day-to-day operation of the READY Center programs to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, federal and state statutes, and city ordinances.

Develops, implements, and maintains procedures, administrative monitoring practices and controls in order to obtain smooth and effective operation of the READY Center programs.

Coordinates work activities of the programs to prevent delays in required actions or to improve programs or services. Conducts periodic evaluations of the READY Center programs through relevant statistical analysis and reports. Directs the analysis and gathering of information and reports necessary to document and evaluate processes. Reviews statistical data, provides information for potential funding, and maintains records of returning citizens in compliance with program requirements. Maintains a data base with all participants for the purpose of tracking recidivism.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • Specialized Experience:_ Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, one (1) specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression. An example of specialized experience is the ability to provide leadership and direction in a supervisory capacity and team base environment; and securing subordinate staff.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIORNMENT


Work is performed in a Correctional Institution office setting and will have to visit the housing units on a daily basis.


OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS

Tour of Duty:
Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to varying work hours.

Collective Bargaining Unit:
This position is not covered under a collective bargaining agreement.


Duration of Appointment:
Management Supervisory Service (MSS) At-Will

A TB Test is required prior to entry on duty.
