Regional Sales Manager
will report to the Building Systems Director of Sales and be responsible for sourcing, qualifying, contacting, presenting, developing solutions, evaluating, negotiating and closing business sales opportunities with existing and new prospective customers in the defined territory.
Regional Sales Manager Responsibilities:
Sales and Relationship Responsibilities
Manage activities to meet/exceed OEM division and install division sales plans
Develop broad and deep relationships through face-to-face contact with key customer accounts
Acquire thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements
Identify key influencers and decision makers within customer organization
Take hand-on approach to problem-solving customer issues
Serve as link of communication between key customers and internal teams
Establish effective relationships and collaboration with other departments
Strategic Responsibilities:
Assist in developing effective sales strategies to grow the OEM and install divisions
Network with companies within both the Sealant and Window & Door industries
Maintain competitive knowledge of sealant manufacturers and window and door manufacturers
Assist in developing pricing strategy based on competitive knowledge and customer value proposition
Drive development of OEM division & install division sales tools with the marketing group
Help develop and implement effective and innovative sales strategies
Work with sales team members to achieve sales targets
Understand the importance of customer service and customer satisfaction
Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
Assist in negotiating and closing agreements with large customers
Help monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements
Help prepare quarterly and annual sales forecasts
Stay up to date with new product launches and ensure sales team members are on board
Aid in promoting teamwork and inspire staff
Ability to deal with issues and sensitive enquiries
Must be organized and self-motivated
Help implement national sales programs
Maintain sales volume, product mix and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors
Key Strategic Responsibilities
Meeting sales forecasts, selling to customer needs, sales planning, building relationships, managing processes and market knowledge
Meet personal Sales targets through his/her own sales
Evaluate customer's skills, needs and build productive, long lasting relationships
Research accounts and generate or follow through sales leads
Attend meetings, sales events, trade shows and training sessions to keep abreast of the latest developments
Help maintain and expand client database within each of the North American territory: West [CA, NV, UT, CO, NM, AZ]
Report on sales results
Establish thorough knowledge of company technologies and product lines
Regional Sales Manager Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science OR alternative degree with 5 – 10 years minimum of chemical sales experience
Required: 5 – 10 years minimum sales experience or a combination of technical (chemistry, engineer, tech service, application engineering) with B2B sales and/or strategic marketing
Required:
A proven track record of impact and the ability to articulate the value brought to previous roles and organizations especially business impact
Experience in business development and/or strategic marketing a plus
Trained in consultative sales (e.g., The Counselor Salesperson) a plus
This is a travel-based position (domestically) with travel between 50-70%.
Territory Coverage with preference to be located in one of the states within a designated territory: West [CA, NV, UT, CO, NM, AZ – potentially WA and OR based on experience and knowledge of business within these states]
