    Summary

    This role is for a Program Analyst within the Recovery Directorate at the Public Assistance Division, Resource Augmentation Section. The ideal candidate will act as an advisor to management, evaluating agency programs and effectiveness. The work is typically in a staff capacity supporting the agency's core mission.

    Duties

    What will I do if hired?

    In this Program Analyst role, you will support the Field Augmentation (FA) team under the Resource Augmentation Section (RAS). Responsibilities include providing technical and operational support to ensure readiness of Federal Partners. You will handle various administrative, technical, and program analysis tasks requiring familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, budgeting, and strong customer service. The role involves assisting in building the capacity of federal partners and exercising professional judgment in tasks.

    Typical tasks include:

    • Supporting operational requirements of Federal Partners for mission readiness.
    • Providing administrative, technical, and analytical support for programmatic activities.
    • Assisting in the development, review, and revisions of operational documents.
    • Preparing written materials for PA and Recovery leadership.
    • Facilitating communications between internal and external divisions.
    • Researching and writing material for various documents and reports.

    What else do I need to know?

    At FEMA, our focus is on assisting people before, during, and after disasters. Every employee plays a role in emergency management, although not all positions require deployment to disaster sites. All roles are subject to recall for emergency operations, potentially requiring irregular work hours and relocations. Travel for emergency operations may be extensive and involve austere conditions.

    This position is for CORE (Cadre of On-Call Response/Recovery Employee). CORE employees support disaster response and recovery efforts and are hired for fixed terms that can be renewed based on needs. They undergo a streamlined hiring process and after three years may apply for permanent positions.
