- Answering incoming calls from the main line as a primary responsibility and triaging calls as needed.
- Providing exceptional patient care in accordance with the position.
- Performing and maintaining appointment scheduling. Adjusting and confirming patient appointments.
- Answering questions regarding appointments, discusses treatment costs, payment options, schedules follow-up appointments, and collects payments via phone if needed all in accordance with office policies and procedures.
- Scheduling surgeries/procedures or work in conjunction with leads/coordinators, verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admissions, and consent forms as necessary.
- Assisting patients with pre-care and post-care questions.
- Fulfilling patient care responsibilities as assigned.
- Fulfilling clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include sending and receiving patient medical records, obtaining lab results, hospital notes, referral information, etc. Completing forms and requisitions as needed, managing charts to ensure information is completed and filed appropriately. These responsibilities may be carried out using the electronic medical record (EMR) system or manually as necessary.
- Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- May perform registration of patients as well as update patient demographic and insurance information.
- May check and verify & update insurance information utilizing internal or web sources.
- May perform and verify pre-certification for procedures as necessary.
- Performing prior authorizations for procedures and medications within established guidelines.
- May handle cash and collect payments accurately and responsibly.
- Scanning, updating, and filing medical records.
- Providing outstanding customer service to every patient.
- Informing practice manager or assistant practice manager of patient flow, etc.
- Assisting other practice team members as needed.
- Helping maintain a courteous and professional working environment.
- Attending all in-house training and continued education opportunities.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by Managers and/or Providers.
- Cross-training with front desk and training in the responsibilities and duties of all administrative positions to provide coverage as needed.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
- A High School Degree or GED.
- Positive, welcoming, and can-do attitude with patients and other practice team members.
- Experience working in any high-volume/high-intensity customer service industry.
- Prefer one year of medical office experience, preferably dermatology.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and a team player.
- Computer Proficiency and superior keyboarding skills (approximately 55 wpm).
- Flexible/adaptable nature to work in a fast paced and continuously evolving environment.
- Passion for helping others in a healthcare environment.
- Ability to effectively interact with providers, patients, and other staff members.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position will require long shifts, weekend (will depend on schedule necessary at facility), closing, and opening shifts. Must work on-site.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit and stand for periods of time. Heavy computer use required. This role may require from time to time lifting heavy objects on a regular basis, doing repetitive tasks with few breaks, and requiring light cleaning.
