Position Summary:


The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) Ticket Services department is responsible for all subscription and single ticket, parking, and gift certificate sales for the majority of performances presented annually at NJPAC.

This includes providing sales and customer service internally through box office, fax, mail and priority customer phone number. Ticket Services is also responsible for supporting NJPAC Membership development programs including member enrollment and inquiry resolution.

Box Office Representatives perform all required Box Office activities that are inclusive of the Ticket Services organization. This team functions under the direction of the NJPAC Marketing Department.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Handle facetoface sales and customer inquires consistent with mission of providing outstanding customer service.
  • Process all subscription ticket and single ticket, parking gift certificate, and membership enrollments and renewal orders in ticketing system.
  • When needed, provide backup support to answer phone calls on the priority customer phone line.
  • When needed, assist with outbound customer support calls for event changes and cancellations.
  • Efficiently and accurately manage a cash drawer.
  • Assist patrons at the box office during preperformance and intermission.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of all events and performances presented at NJPAC utilizing prepared and accessible print and digital media and verbal communications.
  • Balance at the end of the shift to computer generated operator report.
  • Light office duties including faxing, photocopying, filing and so forth.
  • Prepare mailings (stuffing, labeling, sorting and sealing).
  • Day, night, and weekend is a must. Holiday's work may be required.

Qualifications and Special Requirements:


  • High School diploma required.
  • Two (2) years work experience, customer service or sales experience a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with the keyboard.
  • PC literate.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
