    Description
    Duties

    The major duties of this position includes:

    Inventory Management (35%)

    Maintains Accountable Property records for all shops using established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Creates and processes all disposition reports for damaged, retired, non-usable Accountable Property.

    Performs and coordinates physical inventory functions and inventory reconciliation and recommends adjustments to inventory to correct imbalances. Reviews adjustments to records for accuracy and completeness. Analyzes computer rejects and takes actions to correct. Performs causative and physical searches to resolve discrepancies.

    Reconciles physical inventory with existing stock records maintained. Assists with the scheduling and monitoring of the inventory process.

    Plays a pivotal role in managing CPPs fleet of drivable vehicles, including cars, vans, and trucks, ensuring they are properly maintained and serviced. Serves as the point of contact for vehicle management including the upkeep and maintenance of drivable vehicles.

    Manages administrative paperwork efficiently, including vehicle usage reports, vehicle condition assessments, and accident reports. Monitors driver performance and trip check sheets for compliance with AOC/CPP policies and procedures.

    Supply Processing and Distribution (20%)

    Compiles information relating to the designated supply requirements for the Capitol Power Plant (CPP). Maintains stock levels through normal acquisition channels, lead time, availability, storage or staging space, frequency of use and documentation requirements in order to provide installation support in buying, storing, and transferring supplies.

    Maintains inventory control records in an automated system for parts and supplies needed in CPP shop support, custodial and maintenance programs. Ensures that parts and supplies are available when required.

    Cataloging Work (15%)

    Processes clearly defined requests for new items into the supply system when there are similar items already cataloged in the system.

    Assists the Shop Supervisors and Plant Supervisors in reviewing inventory listings and transaction quantity reports to determine usage factors for tools, parts and equipment for cleaning, maintenance, and renovation projects.

    Provides customer service to trades shops and occupants.

    Conducts the physical inventory of all property and materials in CPPs Storeroom and assists the Shop supervisors with their annual physical inventory cycle counts.

    Reconciles source data property record balances upon completion of actual physical inventories.

    Data Collection and Tracking Support (15%)

    Uses word processing software applications to draw information in order to prepare/assist in preparation of reports. Reviews documents reflecting the use of materials and transaction quantity reports from the trades' shops. Corrects the source documents and reviews the records in the automated database to determine required input. Initiates actions from requisition documents for creation of master record for material not previously recorded in the database. Inputs information to reflect receipt, issue and usage of material.

    Maintains established office files and records. Obtains data requested by other employees in the unit.

    COR Services (15%)

    Collaborates with the Administrative and Safety Officers and serves as a Contractor Officer Representative (COR) overseeing the administration of the uniform and safety shoe contracts for the CPP and also approving invoices in IPP. Ensures accurate and adequate oversight of contractor performance according to contract requirements.

    The incumbent is responsible for utilizing a thorough knowledge of and compliance with applicable AOC and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety rules and regulations to ensure that work progresses in a safe manner and to initiate or take corrective action on unsafe conditions in managed areas.

        Qualifications

        You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position.         Specialized experience: is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

        Candidates for the GS-08 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) in the Federal service.

        Specialized experience for this position includes the following:

        (1) Performing analytical work to manage, regulate and control the level and flow of materials, supplies and equipment through acquisition, storage and inventory management.

        (2) Resolving conventional inventory management problems, questions and situations in a supply operation.

        (3) Monitoring established supply systems and programs.

        (4) Performing independent reviews and making recommendations involving well-established acquisition criteria, methods, techniques and procedures.
