Duties:


As a Supply Management Specialist, you will:

  • Serve as the Contracting Officer's Representative for the self-service store and furniture contract. Direct, coordinate, and manage contractor work assignments to ensure balance among contractor staff; identify schedules for the work to be performed; review work for technical content; and establish performance criteria.
  • Obligate funds and reconciliation of credit card statements in accordance with the Government Purchase Card regulations and Federal Acquisition regulations.
  • Purchase nonstock buys for Departmental organizations when products are not available in the selfservice supply stores. Obtain funds for acquisitions, and ensure funds are deobligated when they are no longer needed.
  • Develop methods, strategies, and procurement practices to ensure that the various furniture types used at Headquarters are stocked and operational. Work with the team to upgrade store stock and inventories to meet the stateoftheart products and technologies.
  • Develop budgetary requirements to provide property and supply support for the Departmental operating elements to ensure timely and effective supply support.

  • May be required to successfully complete a 1year probationary period.
  • This position does not support 100% remote work. You will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite as specified by supervisor, but no less than 2 days per pay period.
  • A preliminary background check must be completed before a new employee can begin work. Current Federal employees or other individuals with an existing completed background investigation may not be required to undergo another background check.
  • This position is included in a Bargaining Unit.

Qualifications:


  • Managing and evaluating various operations to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of property and supply activities.
  • Recommending approval or disapproval of requests for apportionments, allotments, other funding requests based on the organization's working capital funds.
  • Monitoring or analyzing financial data in a working capital fund environment to improve or ensure the efficiency of an organization's financial or budgetary activities.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include:

volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.-
