    Benefits Account Manager

    Purpose and Description Responsible for marketing and servicing employee benefits accounts, as assigned by management.

    This includes servicing and processing both new business and renewals, as well as inputting and maintaining account records in the agency management system.

    Required to work with clients, account executives and insurance carrier representatives to process business and resolve account issues.

    Responsibilities

    Services all accounts (quotes, new business, renewals, etc.) as assigned by department management.
    Develops new business and renewal quotations and proposals for Account Executives. Creates coverage and benefit comparisons and works on special projects upon request.
    Processes and services specifically assigned new business and renewals within department guidelines.

    Reviews and analyzes all incoming applications and accompanying documentation; if further documentation is required will contact Client, Management or Account Executive to assure timely completion.

    Responsible for managing assigned list of house accounts, new business, and retention.
    Assesses all inquires by Client, routine and non-routine. Assures proper follow-up of all requests within service standards set by management.
    Secure and develop utilization and cost reports, including self-funded plan analysis.
    Keeps renewal expiration list updated and processes all renewals on a timely basis.
    Participate in client visits and presentations, upon request.
    Assist manager with monthly renewal meetings.
    Assists clients with account set-up, enrollment, and billing issues.

    Skills/Knowledge
    Excellent communication skills and critical analysis skills required. Superior critical analysis required, including the ability to determine client needs and provide resolution efficiently. Organizational skill and the ability to prioritize large volumes of work is critical. Computer proficiency in word-processing, Microsoft Excel and agency management systems.

    Experience/Education
    Three years' Account Management experience working with a health insurance carrier or employee benefits brokerage is preferable.
