Account Manager, Consumer Goods Industry

GROCERY HEADQUARTER SALES EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
This position is for an Account Manager with the majority of accounts based in New England.

The job will entail performing sales calls and business reviews to both established and new distributor and retail partners to grow sales.

Celebrating over 30 years, Maximum Marketing Inc. has been in business since 1991 and is a leading, independently owned, food brokerage company.

We represent manufacturers found throughout retail stores including specialty, natural, and organic foods; health and beauty care; vitamins; and household goods.

We are a sales force specializing in quality specialty products with attributes such as plant based, vegan, multi cultural, keto, organic, Non GMO, fair trade, B Corp certified products, sustainably sourced or packaged, and more.

We have launched, established, and maintained some of the most well known products in the specialty and natural foods industry.

Experience as an Account Manager calling on Wholesale or Retail CPG customers is required.
This position requires occasional overnight travel.
Salary plus extensive benefits are included for this full time position.


Job responsibilities include the following:


  • Obtain consistent appointments adhering to account call frequency with all assigned customers; prepare, present, and follow up on account calls following company procedure
  • Collaborate on business development strategies with clients and customers; implement, review effectiveness, communicate performance & outcome, and suggest revisions for improved results with manufacturer clients
  • Present promotion and marketing strategies to accounts and communicate results internally and to manufacturer following documentation procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service and develop strong customer relationships for Maximum
  • Request, analyze, and utilize data, sales tools, and other resources to promote & sell products
  • Perform line reviews at accounts; communicate results and recommendations internally and to manufacturers
  • Communicate account needs and announcements to manufacturers and make program recommendations
  • Achieve sales goals
  • Follow Maximum Marketing communication and account call procedures
  • Visit retail locations within account for accurate knowledge during headquarter call
  • Meet the needs of all clients
  • Always conduct oneself in a professional manner
  • Be a great team player and represent and promote our mission statement
  • Demonstrate excellent follow up skills
  • Follow communication protocols
  • Attend specified sales meetings and/or trade shows; approximately 6 to 8 per year
  • Meet all deadlines and complete accurate and timely submission of paperwork and reporting
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by Management

Requirements:


  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the Consumer Goods Industry as an Account Manager or Sales Representative working within specialty foods, specialty cheese, deli departments, or relatable experience or education.
  • 2. _ Advanced relationship building skills with very strong organization and follow up
  • Must be comfortable utilizing and learning technology and currently possess intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (outlook, word, excel, power point, adobe)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; and must have clean, presentable, reliable transportation
  • Have working office space with a dependable cable internet connection and adequate space for samples, literature, and any other work materials
  • Overnight travel required
  • Lifting up to 25# for sample product shipments; trade show set up; sales meeting set up
- _Physical Requirements_*- _Requires the capability to remain in a stationary position for the majority of a workday to perform office duties. _
- _Must be able to drive a car for extended periods of time._
- _Must be able to frequently travel in automobiles and other travel methods requiring extended time in a stationary position with exposure to varying weather conditions. This may include plane flights, bus, or train transportation. Must be able to drive a car for extended periods of time and perform travel staying overnight in hotels._
- _Must be able to occasionally lift and transport up to 25 pounds; occasionally ascend or descend stairs or stool. Must be able to occasionally position self to perform work at all heights at a customer location or industry event. _
- _Requires ability to maintain constant movement for the entire workday while in the field or at a trade show or customer presentation or event_
- _Must be comfortable seldom to frequently effectively utilizing tools such as a calculator, scanner, printer, hand truck, or case cutter. _
