    Description

    In this position, responsibilities include conducting in-depth fundamental real estate research; creating, updating, and maintaining several types of Excel databases; assisting in the creation of real estate market analysis tools and models; and developing insight for strategic decision making through in-depth market research. Your ability to "go with the flow" and be a self-starter will be critical to your success. The Research Intern will work Monday through Friday (40 hour week) throughout the summer with the opportunity to transition into a contract role throughout the fall.

    Key Responsibilites

    • Maintain the integrity of commercial real estate and demographic data used in the research function, which includes collection, input/verification, and review
    • Responsible for understanding and utilizing all company research related database programs including CoStar, Revista, NIC Map, ESRI, etc. to analyze data and develop reporting deliverables
    • Responsible for aggregation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of market research including transactions, cap rates, and lease rates through internal/external sources
    • Work closely with personnel in various departments to address their research needs and formulate text and graphics for regular market information reports
    • Conduct research and analysis to assist in evaluation of development and investment opportunities
    • Involved in direct outreach to city planners, assessors, economic developers, and state agencies
    • Comply with corporate mandates of reporting appropriate market statistics to corporate personnel and work with research staff to obtain appropriate answers to research questions
    • Perform web searches for pertinent data and information related to research and analysis of local, regional, and national trends that influence the commercial real estate market
    • Produce written reports and spreadsheets compiling research/data based on organizational needs
    • Review and organize data, synthesizes information, and helps identify and analyze trends
    • Ad hoc and special projects as needed
    Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

    Education:
    • In process undergraduate degree with an emphasis in Real Estate, Business, Data Analytics, or science related major - Required
    • High school diploma - Required
    Work Experience:
    • 1+ years experience using Microsoft Excel in prior internships or classroom projects - Required
    Skills:
    • Multi-tasking
    • Ability to take direction
    • Aptitude in Microsoft Office - moderately proficient in Excel
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Intellectual curiosity and independent desire to learn and grow within the real estate field
    • Experience with Tableau and other business analytics software a plus
