- Assisting Department clients and leadership with developing, implementing, and complying with policies and procedures to ensure effective management of the FOIA compliance and litigation programs.
- Managing civil FOIA and Privacy Act litigation docket, including by working closely with DOJ to draft and review filings for federal district court FOIA litigation, assisting in negotiations with plaintiffs, and assisting in review and production of documents to meet court-ordered or negotiated deadlines.
- Working collaboratively with other attorneys and paralegals to develop strategic approaches to FOIA litigation across the office.
- Carrying out other duties as assigned.
- At the GS-15 level, the incumbent performs the same duties as outlined above; however, the scope and complexity of assignments are increased, and the incumbent receives less supervision than the GS-14.
