    What You Will Contribute:
    A Territory Manager (Account Manager) manages existing and potential customers within a region. This person reports to the Utility Sales Manager. Successful applicants must live in the territory. This position requires 65% travel.


    This position requires regular, strategically planned visits to established and new potential utility and municipal accounts for the purpose of securing sales and growing Badger Meter market share within an assigned territory across all authorized product lines.

    Also responsible for market share growth and includes collaboration with Badger Meter approved alliance partners and management of Badger Meter authorized distributors within assigned territory.


    Essential Job Duties:


    Annually – Develop and attain sales plan objectives for Residential, Commercial and Automated Meter Reading/ Advanced Metering Infrastructure products for direct and distribution customers.

    Perform promotional work to sell and secure new accounts and upgrade existing accounts to the newest/best solutions available.

    Keep accounts informed, trained, and educated on new products and developments on all Utility products and provide excellent customer support in all facets of the sale.

    Provide necessary reports as per assigned cadence to manage territory penetration, market/competitive communication, and resource management.

    Assist the Utility Sales Managers in gathering information or providing assistance as required to improve operational efficiency, grow sales, improve product development, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain our competitive leadership position.

    Lead the assigned Account Teams to effectively use available resources to achieve customer service excellence and win competitive accounts.

    Effectively use CRM to communicate territory and customer intelligence ensuring all departments have the information needed to complete their tasks.

    Manage independently owned distributors within their geographical area (if applicable) to achieve or exceed direct sales year-over-year growth.
    Negotiate prices, terms of sale, delivery dates, etc. to customer within his/her designated authority.

    Effectively manage and participate in regional trade shows, and attend various national conventions as scheduled and assist in staffing as requested by the Sales Manager.

    Influence customers' RFPs and Bids to favor Badger Meter Solutions.

    Account profiling, technical demonstration, training and overall product and market knowledge, assistance and support is required by the Account Manager.

    Develop and maintain an outstanding corporate image of Badger Meter, Inc. and operate within our Code of Business Conduct.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelors Degree
    Minimum of 3 years territory management experience, preferably selling to utilities or government agencies.
    Strong negotiation skills to win multi-million-dollar contracts.
    Capable of strategic as well as relationship selling.
    Water utility experience preferred.
