    Description

    Cox Consulting Network has been exclusively retained by a fast-growing, private equity-owned, aerospace design and manufacturing company in its search for a Cost Accounting Manager. Our client is a leader in its field and is passionate about its mission. This position is onsite at the company's campus, just north of Austin, TX.

    Job Summary: The Cost Accounting Manager is responsible for reporting accurate process cost information, ongoing product cost and margin analysis, and building the cost accounting team. This leader provides valuable insight into production costs and variances to finance leadership and other stakeholders across the organization.

    Essential Job Functions:

  • Analyzes the accuracy and usefulness of data from the Standard Cost system to ensure its use provides valuable insights into product cost and profitability
  • Implements and administers the company's vision and overall policies, objectives, and initiatives
  • Builds out and provides strategic oversight and leadership to Cost Accounting team to accomplish objectives
  • Proactively identifies areas that need improvement, researches best practices and takes necessary steps to enact change
  • Creates and maintains a standard cost accounting variance reporting system and provides a detailed view of PPV and production variances to key stakeholders to drive profitability
  • Regularly reviews and analyzes labor and overhead rates
  • Leads the cost roll process, including analyzing accuracy of changes and overall financial impact
  • Analyzes product costs and profitability and reports findings to leadership and key stakeholders
  • Ensures Inventory and Cost of Goods Sold is appropriately valued through review of standards, inventory account reconciliations, and analysis of required reserves
  • Works closely with IT, Production, Supply Chain, Sales and other teams to create/improve processes and achieve greater efficiency and profitability.
  • Reviews and approves journal entries and reconciliations in the monthly close process to ensure accurate reporting and analyze results
  • Ensures costs for products and services are properly allocated according to corporate policy and in compliance with GAAP


    • Requirements

  • 8-10+ years' experience in Cost Accounting
  • CMA Preferred but not required
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Advanced understanding and experience with MS Office and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new ERP system
  • Must have analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Must have advanced computer and technological skills
  • Ability to interact with Executive Management and participate in cross-functional teams
  • Possess good organizational and time management skills
