- Provide support to students exhibiting dysregulated behaviors in the classroom.
- Build strong relationships with students to encourage positive behavior outcomes
- Develop behavior plans in collaboration with school social works, special education team, and classroom teachers
- Utilize district positive behavior model to address strategies that will develop desired outcomes and coping skills with student's school wide.
- Analyze and disseminate data regarding issues of racial bias with over-identified students being issued behavior referrals disproportionately.
- Support daily functions of the school including but not limited to arrival, dismissal, lunch coverage, and covering classrooms as needed.
- Provide small group intervention under the direction of the school social worker and classroom teacher.
- Collect, track and enter student data into the district portal.
- Support administration of state, district and school assessments.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff.
- Assist guidance, pupil services staff or building administration, as needed.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Computer skills needed to utilize digital intervention programs as well as to perform data entry for tracking student achievement.
- Organization and time management skills.
- Flexibility and responsiveness to student needs.
- Ability to apply positive behavior management strategies.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to work and communicate with diverse populations.
- Ability to serve as a positive, professional role model for students.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as needed to assist students.
- Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
- Ability to establish a supportive and compassionate relationship with students with special needs.
- Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
- Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
- Lift greater than 25 pounds.
- Get from kneeling to standing and standing to kneeling with ease and without outside support.
- Kneel on one knee, both knees.
- Get up and down from floor without assistance.
- Bend from the legs with ease.
- Shuffle quickly on your feet front to back, back to front, side to side.
- Works in standard office, school building environments, and on buses or vans.
- Ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities.
- H.S. Diploma Required. Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred;.
- Proficient in all academic areas.
