    Position Title:
    Site Supervisor


    Program:
    Head Start /Early Head Start


    Summary Description:


    The Site Supervisor is responsible for management of all operations of the Head Start/Early Head Start Center and all early childhood programming.

    The Site Supervisor will ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory and legal regulations. Works as part of a team with Director, Assistant Director and other management staff.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develops and fosters relationships with families, staff and community providers.
    • Ensures a welcoming, safe and healthy environment for children and staff.
    • Supervises staff and assists the Director, Assistant Director and Education Manager in monitoring compliance, supporting instruction, training, counseling and evaluating staff.
    • Ensures the tracking of necessary data and provides reports as needed.
    • Assists administration in implementing practices and requirements to meet Head Start Performance standards and guidelines. Serves as the administrations "voice" in the center.
    • Assists in the implementation of seamless, integrated services for children and families by adhering to program specific work plans, policies and procedures.
    • Supervises Teachers, Teacher Assistants, Substitute Teachers and/or other assigned staff. Monitors and counsels educational staff and takes appropriate action to ensure compliance. Develops and follows up with Improvement Plans as necessary.
    • Creates and maintains a Resource Library and materials for teachers and parents in areas of need.
    • Monitors and coordinates staff schedules and arranges for substitutes for the center as required.
    • Maintains required staffing levels at all times.
    • Investigates all child and staff incidences, completing all forms and notifying appropriate authorities and chain of command.
    • Creates, fosters and maintains a positive culture and climate across the program and supports the mission and vision of CREC.
    • Oversees all activities and meetings at the designated center with staff, children, parents, and community members.
    • Provide leadership, professional development, and coaching to center employees. Conducts regular meetings and/or trainings with teaching staff and aides to monitor and evaluate assessments.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education required.
    • Experience working with school age children essential. Knowledge of child development and services to infants, toddlers, and families
    • Three years' experience successfully supervising teaching staff and implementing curriculum.
    • Knowledge of Head Start, Child Care licensing, and/or NAEYC accreditation preferred
    • Proficiency in MS Office and Google suite and ability to quickly learn other software platforms
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Resourceful, creative, and excellent problem-solving skills
    • Ability to interact/communicate effectively with children, families, and staff at all levels from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds; ability to create and maintain a positive culture and promote excellence in education
    • Experience with Teaching Strategies Gold and Child Plus, preferred
    • Ability to speak/understand Spanish a plus
    • Valid driver's license required and reliable vehicle required
    • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, evenings and occasional weekend work may be required
    • Red Cross and CPR Certification, preferred

    Working Conditions:

    • Must be able to handle the physical aspects of the position including the lifting of a child.
    • First Aid, CPR/AED certificate from an approved course by Office of Early Childhood prior to start date or completed during the first 30 days of employment.
