- Manage relationship of assigned account base including implementation, member issues, delinquencies, stop-loss policy coverage status, and enrollment maintenance while partnering with internal resources as needed
- Coordinate self-funded employee benefits administration by assisting current and new clients with questions, claims, and billing issues to successful resolution
- Manage the pre-renewal and renewal process by assessing and determining client needs for the best benefit options
- Schedule and coordinate client meetings to manage employee enrollment
- Coordinate plan enrollment including employee communication, case submission, plan implementation, and follow through
- Serve as an industry expert to clients for current market condition and ongoing benefit regulation changes, industry information and underwriting
- Learn and become an effective user of benefit administration technology to best assist clients, create and run reports, interact with operations with a focus on optimal record keeping and client management
- Participate in industry events to maintain knowledge and skill development
- Actively seek out referrals from current client base for new business
- Develop strong working relationships with the broker and key contacts for assigned accounts.
- Interact with vendor contacts that support benefits administration
- Approve client plan documents and employee ID Cards prior to creation
- Track and review employer claims for accuracy and payment. Approve high dollar threshold claims for payment
- Lead and mentor assistant account managers
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related educational field
- Highly preferred: minimum of 3 years of experience and demonstrated proficiency in third-party, self-insured account management to include medical, dental, life and other ancillary products including types of stop-loss insurance
- Possess a clear understanding and ability to explain employee benefits plans, regulations, and administration, as well as major legislation that impacts benefits such as Health Care Reform and American Rescue Plan Act
- Experience with benefit administration platforms such as Javelina highly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and Diagnosis Codes ( example: ICD-9 & ICD-10) is a big plus

Kelly has an amazing opportunity for an experienced and successful Account Manager to join a leading 3rd party Health Benefits Administrator based out of their Manhattan, NY location. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with a starting salary of $80,000 - $110,000 based on experience, an excellent benefits package, and a hybrid scheduled weighed heavily towards remote work days in office per week after completion of training.) In this role you will be responsible for the ongoing management and care of a vibrant customer base. The ideal candidate will be able to proactively identify trends, understand corrective actions for service issues, and partner with internal resources to provide best in class Account Management.
