    Title of position: Assistant Director of Development

    Job Class: Full-time, exempt, year-round Reports to: Director of Development Pay Range: $3,750 to $4,583.33 semi-monthly ($90,000 to $110,000 if annualized). The starting salary is based upon, but not limited to, several factors that include type and years of experience, education level, and expertise. Benefits include: medical, dental, vision, and term life insurance of $50,000 subsidized at 100% for employees; life insurance; long-term disability insurance; matching 403b; generous time off benefits including vacation time, and sick leave; professional development. For further information about San Francisco Friends School's beginnings, mission and philosophy, please visit our website at Position Description: The Assistant Director of Development will oversee the day-to-day operations of the development program with a focus on annual giving, stewardship, and information systems. This role involves fundraising, project management, and close collaboration with the Director of Development to achieve strategic goals. The Assistant Director of Development will help attend to the spirit and tone of the School's unique focus on community participation while appreciating the overall development needs of the school. The Assistant Director of Development is a key member of the four-person development and communications office, and works closely with volunteers, Board members, alumni, and other faculty and staff to meet the school's strategic goals. Responsibilities: Annual Fund/Fundraising
    • Develop and implement the annual giving program, including strategic planning, goal setting, timeline planning, and volunteer recruitment.
    • Assist in creating and implementing yearly and long-term plans for charitable giving.
    • Enhance the culture of philanthropy through messaging, branding, and marketing efforts.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Development on a Planned Giving program.

    Stewardship

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive stewardship plan, including gift acknowledgment processes.
    • Oversee reports to endowed fund donors and assist with donor cultivation and stewardship events.

    Information Systems & Operations:

    • Maintain and implement systems for data integrity, gift processing, and constituent information.
    • Coordinate gift processing activities, pledge records, data hygiene, and reporting.
    • Serve as a liaison with the finance office and manage fiscal data within Development.

    Special Events/Spring Fundraiser

    • Collaborate with various teams to create an annual events calendar and oversee special events, including, but not limited to GrandFriends Day and the spring fundraiser.
    • Manage aspects of the annual spring fundraiser, including vendor coordination, budgeting, and event day logistics.

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Assist in general department administration, monitoring budgets, and completing assigned projects.
    • Provide event support as needed and supervise the Alumni & Events Coordinator.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree with five plus years of non-profit/fundraising experience; independent school experience preferred.
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Raiser's Edge or other CRM software preferred.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to develop effective relationships, and manage volunteers.
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize deadlines, and work collaboratively in a team setting.
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

    Physical requirements:

    Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
