    Spring Education Group's Early Childhood Education Division includes nearly 150 schools offering services from infant care through Pre-K/K programs, as well as summer camp and after-school programs.

    SUMMARY:


    In collaboration with SEG Director of Licensing (DOL) and Operations teams, the Licensing Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the early childhood operational practices maintain the highest quality of health and safety standards for children and staff.

    The Licensing Compliance Officer is knowledgeable about state requirements and ensures that all programs operate in compliance with regulatory agencies within the designated regional jurisdiction.


    Reporting to the Regional Director and Operations team, this position works to develop and implement operational health and safety monitoring systems that can be fully utilized to meet specifications established by regulatory guidelines.

    The ideal candidate is professional, highly organized, and possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills. To succeed in this role, applicants should be reliable, and comfortable speaking their mind and standing by their decisions.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Safety & Compliance:

    • Implement and manage an effective licensing compliance program.
    • Advise DOL and management team on the schools' compliance with licensing regulations through detailed reports.
    • Regularly audit school's procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks.
    • Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations.
    • Ensure all employees are onboarded in accordance with licensing regulations and routinely educated on the latest regulations and processes.
    • Work with DOL to develop training protocols and observe staff to ensure they are meeting the standards set by SEG Inc.
    • Create compliance resource library for staff members to reference when they have questions.
    • Provides on-going safety and compliance training to new and existing staff members.
    • Completes regular classroom safety observations and facility safety and compliance audits.

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Critical Thinking and

    Problem Solving:
    Licensing Compliance Officer needs to be able to recognize and evaluate problems, then identify potential solutions.

    • Reading Comprehension: Many documents cross the desk of a compliance officer, especially since their job is specific to making sure paperwork is filed properly and on time. These documents will need to be understood thoroughly.
    • Detail-oriented: The differences between compliance and noncompliance often can be minuscule, therefore the compliance officer needs to be able to recognize the differences and help others to understand the significance

    Education & Credentials:
    Bachelor's degree required (will function as a member of administration).

    • 5 years' experience in an early childhood environment.
    Solid knowledge of licensing requirements and procedures.

    Well-developed oral and written communication skills.


    Physical Requirements:

    • Frequent speaking and listening (50-75%) to staff, children and parents. Must be proficient in speaking, writing and reading English to include reading and comprehending policies and procedures, and being able to correspond in English.
    • Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse (50-75%).
    • Frequent walking and standing (50-75%).
    • Frequent repetitive or fine hand movements (50-75%); occasional working with arms above shoulder level and reaching (10-25%).
    • Frequent bending, squatting, stooping, kneeling, twisting to interact with children (50-75%).
    • Often carrying and lifting %) 25 pounds or less and occasionally carrying and lifting 25-50 pounds (10-25%).
    • Often rising from the floor, gripping or squeezing (25-50%).
    • Occasional carrying and lifting 25-50 pounds (10-25%).
    • Occasional climbing of stairs, playground equipment, ladders (10-25%).
    • Employee is regularly required to hear and use clear vision with or without correction. This may include viewing small numbers.

    Work Environment & Additional Requirements:
    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

    Education administrators may be required to work more than 40 hours a week, often including school activities at night and on weekends.

    The leadership responsibilities of this position do not permit telecommuting. Position is year-round.
