Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager I for the Classification and Selection Unit, the Associate Personnel Analyst independently performs a wide range of classification and selection assignments for the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR).
This includes reviewing, analyzing, and making determinations on hiring packages, reviewing and making recommendations for various requests such as Out-of-Class and Training and Development assignments, and providing consultative services to assigned division hiring managers or personnel liaisons.
The incumbent also provides specialized training on the hiring process and assists in a variety of special projects.This posting may be used to fill future vacancies in accordance with 2 CCR §249.3
The Associate Personnel Analyst classification is being appropriated for this position.
If you have list eligibility as a Associate Governmental Program Analyst it will be used to hire you as a Associate Personnel Analyst.
Candidates with Associate Governmental Program Analyst eligibility must meet the minimum qualifications for both Associate Personnel Analyst and Associate Governmental Program Analyst.

Working Conditions
This position is located in Sacramento.
The incumbent works in an air conditioned, low-rise office building with natural and artificial lighting. In addition, the incumbent works in a cubicle in close proximity to others. The building is located at 2180 Harvard Street, Sacramento and there is free parking. We offer a hybrid approach with staff working on-site 2 days per week.

Department Information
The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) was established in 1927.
Its mission is to improve working conditions for California's wage earners and to advance opportunities for profitable employment in California.
DIR administers and enforces laws governing wages, workplace safety and health, apprenticeship training programs, and medical care and other benefits for injured workers.
