    Job Overview of EHR & Compliance Specialist

    The EHR & Compliance Specialist is responsible for providing direct and indirect support to staff with the use of the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

    The EHR Specialist is the main point of contact for all EHR projects and activities and ensures regulatory compliance with all governing bodies.

    The EHR Specialist is expected to work cross functionally and provide training with various teams that may comprise administrators, programs supervisors, clinicians and front-line staff.

    Essential Duties of EHR & Compliance Specialist
    Key duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
    Responsible for daily oversight of the EHR and coordination of all EHR related projects and activities; Providing direct assistance in managing the agency's EHR system
    Liaising with tech support teams and programs staff to help resolve EHR related issues
    Ensure all HIPAA information is protected and providing timely feedback on items to be escalated
    Develop and implement effective EHR software training to best support users and optimize workflows
    Auditing records for compliance with all requirements; Conducting quality assurance reviews and providing related reports to programs on an ongoing basis
    Reviewing submitted claims for compliance with billing requirements and Medicaid standards
    Participating in programs' performance quality improvement and risk management activities, providing feedback and best practices, along with reporting
    Assisting with the agency's ongoing efforts to maintain accreditation and renewal processes
    Serving on committees relevant to the position as needed
    Managing reporting functions within EHR system to extract data as needed; creating ad hoc reports upon request; responding timely to requests
    Supporting overall strategic plan of the organization
    Ensuring adherence to the agency's mission, policies, core values and commitments, notably the Sanctuary model

    Essential Qualifications of EHR & Compliance Specialist

    Key qualifications include:
    Associate's degree and 2 years relevant experience; Bachelor's degree and 1 year relevant experience; or equivalent work experience.
    Experience and knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to electronic health records in the Human Services field
    Ability to gather, read and analyze data.
    Ability to understand information and relay information to others at various levels
    Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Suites and EHR systems
    Effective verbal and writing skills in English.
    Ability to learn new software and systems for electronic health records and assist with implementation as needed.
    Understanding of Customer service and project management skills
    Ability to access and utilize ADP app on smartphone or other device for access to agency programs
