Compliance Specialist

Duties:


  • Update waiting list and ensure accurate notes.
  • Understands income limit requirements & rent charges with applicant households.
  • Conducts applicant background checks & hold applicant interviews to prepare initial Tenant Certifications.
  • Completes Project-Based/Enhanced vouchers quickly, thoroughly & accurately; submit vouchers to PHAs timely.
  • Thoroughly tracks all work & maintains updated work status.
  • Works with PHAs, applicants & Operations team to determine & coordinate movein date, unit to lease & lease signing appointments.
  • Completes work in a meticulous & timely manner
  • Makes recommendations to Property Manager about desirability of prospects
  • Ensure leaseup benchmarks are met (units rented timely, voucher packages submitted timely, etc)
  • Ensure all applicant relevant ticklers are accurate, detailed & uptodate.
  • Assist with file audits when requested.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Affordable Housing Qualifications:


  • Strong knowledge of HUD Project Based Section 8 and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit programs with some knowledge of USDA RD program, HOME, or Public Housing.
  • Holds two (2) Industry Certifications for HUD or LITHC Compliance (COS, BOS, HCCP, etc.)
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience with auditing Project Based Section 8/LIHTC/HOME certification files & Projectbased for Enhanced Vouchers
  • Computer literate with experience using property management software(s) (i

Yardi, OneSite etc.)

  • Detailedoriented, great analytical skills, quick learner, fast & meticulous worker.
  • Independent & critical thinker, motivated, highly resourceful team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and proven ability to prioritize tasks and project goals.

Education requirement:


  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Affordable Housing (LIHTC/Section 8)
  • LIHTC certification
  • COS/AHM certification
  • 4 year college degree preferred
  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs (i

Excel, Word)

  • Handson experience with housing software programs such as Yardi and Realpage

Salary:
$65,000 - $70,000 (commensurate with experience)


Pay:
$65, $70,000.00 per year
