    Purpose of the Role

    Based in New York, The Head of Sourcing will take leadership and responsibility for the people, financial and operational elements of the client solution globally. The successful applicant will be based in New York or Toronto.

    The Head of Sourcing will be responsible for managing all costs to budget. They will drive operational excellence, delivering sourcing capability compliantly to contractually agreed service levels within the global account. The Head of Sourcing will act as a trusted strategic partner, supporting business development within the account or region.

    The Head of Sourcing will lead a large team, often spanning over 100 FTE. They will inspire and motivate their teams, role model AMS behaviours, prioritise team wellbeing, engagement and retention and drive appropriate succession planning and team/leadership development. They will report to the Regional Head of Sourcing.
    Key Accountabilities
    • Role model leadership for all people within sourcing within the account partnership
    • AMS talent for the future through robust hiring and driving performance and development, wellbeing, engagement and ultimately retention - make souring a great place to work
    • Empower Senior Managers, Managers and Team Leaders to lead their teams, ensuring the whole team knows what is expected of them, how they're performing and have the knowledge and skills to be the best they can be at AMS
    • Build strong and influential relationships with senior internal and client stakeholders to lead on the delivery of our sourcing value proposition in region / globally
    • Support Client Service team with the sales process for new business including attending client presentations
    • Accountable for Client Satisfaction including the resolution of all service issues within region
    • Accountable for delivering sourcing strategy to client service teams across the account in line with forecasted demand and agreed hiring strategy
    • Accountable for meeting compliance, risk and audit standards in line with AMS Policy and Procedures as well as client requirements
    • Responsible for innovation of service, creating and maintaining a continuous improvement plan with support of the Performance Management CoE
    • Collaborate with dedicated Performance Manager or CoE for initiatives to monitor and improve sourcing productivity across accounts
    • Take full responsibility for sourcing P&L, meeting budget targets and accountability for forecasting accuracy
    • In conjunction with the Client Services Team support team and client through all stages of the contractual lifecycle i.e. re-sign, implementation, remediation and / or stabilization, drawing on AMS resources as and when necessary
    Outputs
    • Quarterly meetings with key stakeholders agreed by Client Services team and Global head of Sourcing
    • Ensure teams understand the account's commercial model, and their role in helping achieve its strategic priorities and KPI targets
    • Highly motivated and engaged team, measured through Engagement metric - achieve targeted year-on-year improvement in NPS for account(s)
    • Clear, robust and measurable People, Comms and Engagement Plan for account/team; shared and understood

    • 95% retention of HIPOs within AMS
    • Continuous improvement plan with clear, measurable and reportable targets created and implemented in collaboration with Performance Management CoE
    • Manage headcount to forecast demand to enable sourcing service delivery to time and budget
    • Targets met (budgeted contribution and margin); any variances anticipated and signalled; costs fully managed (within control)
    Knowledge, skills and experience
    • Experience of leading emerging leaders, global teams and matrix management
    • Experience leading virtual/remote teams - proven ability to enable collaboration, engagement and operational excellence among dispersed teams
    • Demonstrable, deep understanding of Sourcing, Talent Acquisition and RPO
    • Prior experience of Sourcing
    • Deep specialist knowledge in a current or potential future product or service
    • Demonstrated capability to manage a large P&L
    • Demonstrable commercial, contractual and legal knowledge/capability that can be applied in the AMS environment
    • Demonstrated ability to build a position as a trusted advisor
    • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders towards a course of action
    • Agility; change management and ability to cope with and lead a team and client through significant change
    • Demonstrable resilience and ability to work under pressure
    • Versatility - able to drop into and deliver outstanding results in any situation
    • Demonstrable ability, and passion for people leadership, engagement and development
