ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Head of Social Impact reports to the Head of Global Center for Urban Development (GCUD), and is critical to the GCUD's work, mission, and effectiveness.

In this role, you'll embody Audible's core People Principles.

The most applicable of which is to Imagine and Invent Before They Ask, ensuring that we remain inventive and innovative across our programs and initiatives and continuously develop solutions that are disruptive and transformative.

Providing direct supervision of the program staff through day-to-day leadership and support, the core areas of responsibility include (but not limited to) program management and design, program analysis, impact assessment, and various administrative duties.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Audible launched the Global Center for Urban Development (GCUD) to advance its 17-year mission to accelerate Newark's comeback through initiatives aimed at advancing equity, racial justice and economic empowerment.

Designed to expand existing programs and invent new scalable and replicable models, GCUD advances innovative ideas that address social and economic inequities and actively catalyze societal change - all of which creates measurable equity and resilient futures in the communities we work.

Leveraging our people, place and position, GCUD helps guide Audible's decisions on impact investments, strategic partnerships, charitable contributions, and change-making programs, to draw upon key metrics that advance an equitable impact-driven roadmap and maximize its economic and social impact across its global hubs.

As the Head of Social Impact, you will

  • Oversee global impact programs, with emphasis on longerterm collaborations, strategic partnerships and programs that are scalable, transferrable and replicable across Audible's hubs
  • Provide direct oversight, management and leadership to program staff of five who are responsible for execution of a range of impact programs including internships, youth programs, small business support, skillsbased training, workplace immersion, podcast training, and schoolbased efforts
  • Serve as a thought partner to program team, and design new programs and refine existing ones for maximum impact, to align target audiences, or to better allocate resources
  • Support Global Activate Caring efforts by identifying ways to integrate global volunteers into impact programs, and source, plan and execute local, virtual, and skillsbased volunteer events across Audible hubs
  • Develop systems and processes to document the progress, successes and challenges of programs; identify priorities, gaps and trends in program areas and make recommendations accordingly
  • Lead annual program assessments and evaluation, supported through quarterly report outs for team—and internal stakeholder—awareness and alignment
  • Manage program budget and ensure that expenses and expenditures stay within the allocated budget; inform annual budget planning process and resource reallocation as needed
  • Provide expert advice, support, and leadership in evaluating, modeling, and administering economic and social impact priorities and informing programs and investment decisions
  • Serve as communications and marketing liaison on programmatic progress and outcomes to amplify our work and ensure that key internal and external stakeholders understand GCUD's impact, which may include participation in panels or media engagements on behalf of Audible
  • Create opportunities for team members' leadership and professional development and ensure that team members are supported, valued, appreciated and motivated to produce highquality work
