    Summary

    King County's Finance and Business Operations Division, Treasury section, is seeking a Cash Management Specialist (Fiscal Specialist 3)

In this vital role, you will facilitate the County's bank accounts, overseeing both incoming and outgoing electronic payments, handling customer service duties as the head cashier, and nurturing essential banking relationships.     Scope of Job Duties: To be considered for this opportunity, you must at a minimum, demonstrate knowledge, skill and ability to:
    • Process ACHs, Wires & transfers using online banking tools;
    • This position acts as Head Cashier;
    • Post entries to the general ledger;
    • Primary back up for returned checks/e-checks and Automatic withdrawal entries;
    • Respond to inquiries from districts and agencies by email and phone;
    • Collect, retrieve and tabulate financial information. Create computer spreadsheets to improve the gathering, reporting and logging of financial information;
    • Create and maintain relevant procedures and processes;
    • Research accounting problems/issues;
    • Responsible for organizing and archiving monthly files;
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Experience working with treasury workstation performing cash management or treasury functions;
    • Knowledge of ACHs, wires and online banking;
    • Experience in cashiering and cash handling;
    • Experience preparing journal entries and researching bank entries including ACH and wire payments to ensure they are properly recorded;
    • Experience providing excellent customer service;
    • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Excel;
    • Experience in Oracle's Cash Management module;
    • Experience in LEAN or process improvement;
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, writing and customer service skills;
    • Intermediate level of technology proficiency using MS Office Productivity tools in your daily work;
    • Ability to manage your time and adapt to changing priorities, work on multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, meet quick deadlines, and produce timely and quality work products;
    • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
    We would love it if you have:
    • Branch banking experience;
    • NACHA experience;
    • Experience with LEAN processes and principles;
    • Experience with SharePoint, MS Teams and other collaborative online tools.

    Position Information:
    • Work Site Details: The work associated with this position will be 100% in office at King Street Center.
    • Location Requirement: Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
    • Work Schedule: This position is Non-Exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and therefore is overtime eligible. Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule, every other Thursday, comprising a 40-hour workweek; normally 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
    • Union Representation: This position is represented by Teamsters 117.
