    Opportunity SummaryThe Operations Coordinator is responsible for scheduling, planning, and communicating operating protocols while maintaining company environmental and safety standards.

    Acts as administrator and lead representative on the generation management and reporting system. Assists in the development and preservation of plant standard operating Procedures, Emergency operating procedures, and system change updates.

    The Operations Coordinator works with the plant operating and maintenance staff to ensure plant facilities and equipment are operated in a safe and efficient manner.

    Primary FunctionsCoordinate plant start-up operations, including assisting during cycling operations, to ensure smooth and consistent plant functioning.
    Fill in for Lead O&M Technicians as required, covering open shifts and working nights/weekends as necessary.
    As training administrator, oversee the training program for Lead O&M Technicians and O&M Technicians.
    Lead the troubleshooting team to address plant issues, developing preventive strategies to enhance plant reliability, availability, and start-up efficiency.
    Manage outages, including issuing LOTOs and Safe Work Permits, as well as other necessary documentation.

    Act as the primary point of contact for on-site contractors, coordinating permits for activities such as hot work and confined space access, and facilitating communication between contractors and the operations group.

    Collaborate with the plant team and MLCI to optimize operations, ramp rates, bid schedules, etc.
    Provide support to O&M Managers as required, contributing to special projects and providing MP2 support.
    Conduct regular plant rounds, compiling work lists for repairs and housekeeping tasks.

    Working Relationships The Operations Coordinator reports to the O&M Manager and responds to direction from the Plant Manager in the absence of the O&M Manager.

    The Operations Coordinator works in cooperation with the operations personnel on matters pertaining to the daily operation of the plant.

    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Physical requirements include the possibility of standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds.

    Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, etc.).

    There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility. Fitness for Duty All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening.
    Work Schedule This position offers a Monday to Friday work schedule, during regular dayshift hours.

    Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and plant conditions.

    "On call" status will periodically be required. Some travel may be involved to participate in User Group, or other offsite meetings. Compensation Initial starting compensation will range from $60.00 to $64.00 per hour.

    Job Qualifications Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school.

    Four years' experience as a power plant Operations technician or equivalent experience is required.

    Demonstrated experience in coordinating plant start-up operations, preferably in a similar industry, with a strong understanding of operational protocols and safety standards.

    Proven ability to lead teams, including troubleshooting teams, to address plant issues effectively and develop preventive strategies for enhancing plant reliability and efficiency.

    Experience in overseeing training programs, particularly for technical staff such as Lead O&M Technicians and O&M Technicians, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and safety protocols.

    Strong knowledge of safety procedures and compliance requirements, including experience managing outages, issuing LOTOs and Safe Work Permits, and maintaining necessary documentation.

    Ability to effectively coordinate activities with on-site contractors, including permitting for hot work and confined space access, and facilitating communication between contractors and internal teams.

    Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with plant teams and external partners, such as MLCI, to optimize operations, ramp rates, and bid schedules, contributing to overall plant efficiency and performance.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address plant issues proactively, develop innovative solutions, and prioritize tasks effectively to ensure smooth plant functioning.

    Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License at all times.
