    Description
    The Director of Human Resources is an at-will, exempt departmenthead position appointed by the County Administrator.

    Theincumbent will report to the County Administrator and will beresponsible to plan, direct, manage, and oversee centralizedhuman resources, risk management, and payroll operations.

    TheDirector of Human Resources is a countywide leader responsible toimplement the human resources and organizational developmentcomponents of the Board's Strategic Plan.

    The Director also playsan essential role in developing and implementing staff retention,employee engagement, diversity, and inclusion strategies.

    Qualifications:


    The ideal candidate will have a depth and breadth of experienceacross a wide variety of HR, risk management, and payrolloperations.

    Additionally, a strong and thoughtful leader who canrelate well to others, including staff, fellow department heads,the County Administrator, County Counsel, and the Board ofSupervisors.


    Experience:

    At least six years of full-time,progressively responsible experience in a public sector HR officewith significant responsibility for supervising and administeringone or more of the major aspects of a comprehensive HR programsuch as classification and compensation, employment services,employee training and development, organizational development,employee and labor relations, benefits administration, payroll,and/or workers' compensation.

    At least three of the six yearsmust be at the supervisory or management level.


    Education:
    ABachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, HumanResources Management, Industrial Psychology, OrganizationalDevelopment, or a reasonably related field. An advanced degree ishighly desirable.
