Position Summary:

This HR Generalist provides clerical and administrative support to all functional areas within Human Resources.

This position will work closely with the HR Manager to perform duties involving responding to day to day questions regarding human resources policies and procedures and assisting other functional areas in Human Resources.


Responsibilities:


  • Gathers data, performs data analysis, and creates advanced reports that are audience appropriate, timely, and accurate.
  • Updates policies and procedures to support continuous improvement in both department efficiency and services provided.
  • Establish and maintain contact with injured employees and provide support with workers' compensation claims management.
  • Initiate, coordinate and maintain receipt of all credentialing documentation from new and current practitioners; provide followup and problem resolution
  • Assist in the maintenance of a comprehensive credentialing database and prepare reports and summaries as appropriate; monitor physician profiles
  • Prepare educational material for all staff and management training
  • Ensures all new staff completes necessary forms and policies and provides general orientation regarding Personnel policies and Union contract.
  • Maintain and update personnel files of all employees
  • Ensure accurate maintenance records of staff vacation, sick, personal, and any other type of time off.
  • Provides HRIS training and additional assistance to supervisors
  • Coordinates activities, projects, events, meetings etc. for Committee Meetings
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts newemployee orientations; monitors careerpathing program and post job announcement.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration or related field.
  • Generalist experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to think abstractly and analytically.
  • Knowledge of applicant tracking and human resource information systems; ADP preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and database systems
  • Provide prioritization, attention to detail and organization skills, must enjoy interacting with others and working in a team environment
  • Ability to multitask, be flexible, ensure accuracy, and meet changing priorities in a fastpaced, highworkload environment.
  • Exceptional knowledge of employment laws, recruitment, benefits, training, compliance, safety and general HR practices. Specific knowledge may be required depending on area of assignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain good working relationships with employees, coworkers, and departments. Ability to defuse and deescalate issues and conduct conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations relating to Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of the policies, procedures, and best practices relating to Human Resources.
