    Universal AAV Immuno-Gene Therapy.

    We are combining two transformative therapeutic technologies – AAV gene therapy and cytokine immunotherapy - into a single, reimagined modality that overcomes key challenges and redefines how we destroy tumor cells and elicit anti-tumor immunity.

    We're looking for a Head of Business Development

    (Assoc. Dir./Dir./VP) who will identify, pursue, and successfully close business development opportunities that drive our growth and contribute to the development

    new and innovative AAV immuno-gene therapies.
    Position Description
    As the Head of Business Development,


    you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of Siren by spearheading strategic partnerships and collaborations with pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

    Your primary responsibility will be to identify, negotiate, and close mutually beneficial deals that advance our universal immuno-gene therapies.

    Additionally, you will provide crucial support to our preclinical and CMC teams in contract reviews and negotiations, ensuring alignment with our business objectives.

    In addition, you will collaborate closely with our CEO to secure funding opportunities to fuel our continued innovation and expansion.

    You thrive due to your strong interpersonal skills and strong entrepreneurial work ethic and desire to deliver.

    You will work in a highly cross-disciplinary, fast-moving, and fluid environment, and we need you to draw from your extensive experience and connections in the life sciences.

    The ideal candidate will work in-person from Siren Headquarters in San Francisco, CA.

    As Head of Business Development at Siren, you will be a key player in the following areas:


    Partnership and Collaboration Development:
    Identify and evaluate potential partners within the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
    Develop and execute comprehensive partnership strategies to drive business growth and expand our reach.
    Lead negotiations and contract discussions to secure favorable terms and agreements.
    Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate successful collaborations.

    Lead and participate in external events (e.g., JPM, BIO, etc) and industry conferences, to represent Siren and network with potential partners.


    Contract Review and Negotiation Support:
    Assist our internal Preclinical and CMC teams in reviewing and negotiating contracts related to research, development, and manufacturing projects.
    Ensure contracts are aligned with company objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
    Collaborate with legal and cross-functional teams to resolve any contractual issues or discrepancies.
    Collaborate with the CEO to develop and execute fundraising strategies, including venture capital, strategic partnerships, and grant funding opportunities.
    Prepare compelling presentations, pitch decks, and investment materials to attract potential investors and partners.
    Participate in investor meetings and presentations to communicate Siren's vision, milestones, and value proposition.

    Market Analysis and Opportunity Assessment:
    Stay on top of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies for treating solid tumor cancers.
    Conduct market analysis and opportunity assessments to identify new potential collaborations and financing opportunities.
    Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on market intelligence and industry developments.

    Qualifications:

    6 + years of highly relevant business development experience in pharma and/or biotech industries.

    Proven track record with a demonstrable deal sheet of successfully executed collaboration and licensing agreements around platform technologies and pipeline assets.

    Strong technical understanding of the preclinical and clinical development processes, regulatory requirements, and intellectual property considerations.
    Significant scientific acumen. You can connect the dots between our science and the needs/interests of external parties. You don't need to have a Ph.
    D., but you should be able to converse in depth with someone who does.
    Strong existing network of relevant stakeholders within pharmaceutical and biotech companies and investment firms. People pick up the phone when you call.
    Excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills.

    Highly effective in leading by influence in a matrixed environment with the ability to earn the trust and respect of a range of stakeholders.

    Demonstrated ability to operate independently on both strategic and tactical levels with little to no day-to-day direct supervision of work.

    Ability to effectively prioritize work across diverse and dynamic set of deliverables.
    Ability to travel and work some off-business hours.
    Demonstrated track record of clear communication, working with a small multidisciplinary team.

    Physical Demands Of The Work Environment


    The position is expected to work onsite full time (8h/d, 40h/wk) during Siren's normal business hours as well as additional hours as required by the nature of your work assignments.

    Position requires the ability to sit/stand for long periods of time

    $190,000 - $280,000 a year


    In addition to a competitive salary, you will also receive enough equity to feel truly invested in our vision at Siren.

    The exact salary will be commensurate to experience and will be determined on an individual candidate basis. A competitive benefits package will be provided.
