    Your Role
    We are hiring a motivated and results-driven BusinessDevelopment Professional in the Bay Area. Candidates should have anadvanced understanding of the industry market with a strong background inselling professional services in validation, quality, engineering, and related.Seeking excellent communication and people skills, to develop and maintainlong-term relationships with customers and stakeholders. Travel is required.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive business development strategies and drive overall business objectives and growth.
  • Identify market trends and actively target new business opportunities in the life science industry.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients in order to identify key growth areas.
  • Analyze competitors and industry dynamics to inform strategic business development initiatives.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business objectives.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans related to business development activities. Monitor financial performance against targets, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with other companies, organizations, or industry stakeholders to expand the company's reach and access new markets.
  • Drive client engagement, cultivating relationships with new and existing customers and serving as primary point of contact.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships through effective communication and a deep understanding of client requirements.
  • Lead Generation: Actively generate leads through various channels such as cold calling, email campaigns, networking events, and industry conferences.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities, tracking progress, and ensuring timely follow-up to advance deals through the sales cycle. Document all aspects of sales cycle activities in CRM.
  • Client Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough needs assessments with clients to understand their pain points, challenges, and objectives, and tailor solutions accordingly.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and proactively address any concerns or challenges.
  • Proposal Development: Take the lead in developing proposals and pitches tailored to the needs of prospective clients, showcasing the company's capabilities and value proposition. Collaborate with technical experts to develop proposals and maintain professional communications throughout the sales cycle.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes while protecting the interests of the company.
  • Client Presentations: Deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations to clients, effectively communicating the value proposition and differentiation of the company's services.
  • Travel and represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to expand our network and visibility within the life science community.
  • Cross-Selling and Upselling: Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling additional services to existing clients, maximizing revenue potential, and enhancing client relationships.
  • Additional responsibilities as required to successfully drive overall business development and company objectives.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related.
  • Proven success in a business development, sales, sales engineer, project engineer, or related role in the life sciences industry.
  • Direct industry, client-facing experience in an engineering or project management role within pharmaceutical manufacturing and biotechnology is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in selling professional services and solutions related to validation services, quality, engineering, and so on.
  • Proven success in effectively targeting opportunities for growth, and prospecting and nurturing potential leads.
  • Proven success in achieving or exceeding sales goals.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in the life science sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry market.
  • Familiarity with use of CRM, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other tools for effective sales.
  • Proactive, go-getter attitude, and passionate about providing excellent customer service.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Goal-oriented, ability to set goals and develop/drive action plans.
  • Ability to foster and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers and additional stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Motivated and driven, and willing to learn.
  • Adaptable and flexible.
  • Travel is required.

  • Estimated Annual Base Salary (dependent on experience) $90,000 - $120,000.
