    What You'll Be Doing

    In this remote/home-based position as the Western Region Sales Manager, you will be leading large scale commercial sales efforts primarily in the western U.S. Reporting to the Senior Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for driving business through the sale of Erthos's Architect Engineering Agreements for its Earth Mount Solar PV technology in the utility, commercial and industrial market segments. You will be a critical member of the team that develops and executes the appropriate sales and pipeline development strategies to achieve the sales targets within the U.S.

    To accomplish this, you will need to gain a deep, fundamental understanding about everything we do, how we do it, when we do it, and why we do it. A significant portion of your first months at Erthos will be spent proactively diving deep into our technology and simultaneously familiarizing yourself with our sales process, software tools, patents, products, manuals, corporate decks, business plans, and legal contracts. You will participate in sales calls and travel with senior management (CCO, Sr. Director of Sales, etc.) and sales engineers to sales meetings with prospective customers in order to fundamentally master our long and complex sales cycle. You will also get to know our engineering and robotics teams to understand how our technology has the potential to revolutionize the solar industry. Ultimately, all this knowledge will allow you to successfully perform the following functions within Erthos:

    • Leverage and grow your already established network within the EPC and Developer segments of the solar industry to originate new relationships within the utility scale solar market. You must have an established network within these solar segments.
    • Use these relationships to market our technology to potential customers, many of whom may believe that a solar solution is impossible given their land or cost constraints. In many instances where a solar solution is desired but land is scarce, the solution is nothing.
    • Simultaneously develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with existing and prospective customers.
    • Lead the capture of revenue through our Engineering Service Contract and our O&M Contract negotiations with target accounts.
    • Communicate effectively with internal engineering, construction, R&D, marketing and operations departments to ensure clear and consistent messaging with existing and target accounts is always maintained.
    • Regularly monitor trends in competitor pricing and strategies. Potentially utilize this data to uncover weaknesses in competitors' offerings, allowing Erthos' proprietary technology to become a lower cost and/or more effective solution for new customers.

    Qualifications and Experience Needed:

    We are in search of a utility scale solar sales professional who possesses extremely strong analytical and communication skills, along with the following qualifications:

    • A minimum of 3 years of highly collaborative consultative sales experience within the solar industry with a proven ability to manage internal and external stakeholders throughout the sales cycle.
    • A strong technical knowledge of PV systems and design; an understanding of solar market dynamics and industry trends; and the ability to develop PV business with utility and commercial developers.
    • An established network within utility scale solar and a proven track record in proposal preparation, contract review and negotiation, account management, and deal closure.
    • Proven ability to work under pressure with the ability to manage conflicts or issues as they arise.
    • The ability to effectively speak to large and small audiences that contain both technical and non-technical (i.e., general business knowledge) participants. You must be cool under pressure, "quick on your feet," enjoy taking the hard questions and know how to tailor your answers to the audience member(s) who ask them.
    • A collaborative work style is essential, since we are a tight knit team that does our best to support each other each and every day.

    Desired Education, Technical Knowledge, and Travel Requirements:

    • A Bachelor's or higher degree in an engineering is preferred.
    • Formal experience and/or consultative sales training is preferred.
    • Ability to present complicated topics in person and via video to a diverse audience is required.
    • Working knowledge of the project finance process and financial modeling in Excel is highly desirable. Ability to explain and detail LCOE for energy investments is desirable.
    • Highly experienced in the usage of Microsoft Office products.
    • This role requires someone that currently resides near a major airport within the western United States. All applicants must understand that this will require significant domestic travel of up to 50%. However, when not traveling, you will be home based and receive a monthly stipend to offset home office costs (phone, internet, etc.).
