    St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco operates the Multi-Service Center - Northern California's largest homeless shelter, Navigation Centers for chronically homeless individuals and couples and the Riley Center - Domestic Violence shelter and services for survivors.     SUMMARY:

    The HR Manager is responsible for oversight of processes related to the employee life cycle, and benefit administration. This position will supervise an HR Coordinator and HR Generalist. This position will report to the HR Director. This is a full-time, exempt, non-union position. This position works fully on site in person.

    SALARY AND BENEFIT OVERVIEW:

    The salary range for this position is $90k to $115k annually DOE. Kaiser HMO paid in full for employee. Voluntary dental, life, and vision insurance. 403b retirement plan with employer paid match after 1 year of employment. Ten vacation and ten sick days accrued per year. Two personal floating holidays and twelve and a half holidays offered per year. Employee Assistance Program.

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Supervises the HR Coordinator and HR Generalist.
    • Partners with the leadership team to gain an understanding and execute the Human Resource strategy as it relates to the current needs.
    • Oversees the benefits management and assists the HR Director with planning and conveying benefit information and open enrollment meetings.
    • Investigation of employee complaints and successful problem resolution through completion.
    • Thorough knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, and PDL leave administration.
    • Assists with creating learning and development training that provides employees with the development of the skills needed for their jobs.
    • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of data in ADP and updating information as necessary.
    • Maintains knowledge of changing regulations, trends, and best practices in human resources and employment laws.
    • Utilizes ADP reporting for statistical information.
    • Assist with required reporting such as EEO, OSHA, and other compliance reporting.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Required Experience
    • BA degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or related field. Equivalent work experience may be accepted instead of a degree.
    • PHR or SHRM-CP is required.
    • Minimum three years of experience handling the full employee life cycle.
    • Two years of experience managing an HR team.
    • Excellent knowledge of California employment laws related to pay and employment.
    • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
    • Experience working in an HRIS platform. ADP Workforce Now preferred.
    Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to listen effectively, respond appropriately, and maintain professional boundaries with people of diverse backgrounds.
    • Strong ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of employee relations and record-keeping.
    • Proven ability to resolve employee issues effectively.
    • Strong ability to interpret and communicate policies.
    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience working with a diverse workforce in a shelter environment is preferred.
    • Proven planning and organizing skills.
    • Advanced ability with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Excellent written and verbal English skills
    • Able to work in a team environment and/or independently.
    Covid vaccination and negative result on TB test required.
