IT Business Analysis activities:
Support projects in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Requirements (Business, User, System (functional and non-functionals)) elicitation for system development using workshops, interviews and managing the requirements in systems like DevOps, JAMA and JIRA.
Analyse, define, record, prioritise, agree and sign off requirements from the Stakeholders.
Manage Requirements Traceability matrix for the work items.
Query Stakeholders for any clarifications on requirements during the development process, assess the impact of changes on the project scope and budget and update requirements catalogue with the agreed changes (revise requirements).
Identify downstream and upstream systems integrations/ end point.
Carry out business process analysis (BPMN/ UML, as- is/ to- be and Gap) and develop Process maps as required and identify any gaps and improvement opportunities.
Working with Solutions Architect, Product Owner, Software Development teams to refine requirements and progress to development sprints.
Work with Solutions Architect to define application failover and business continuity designs and component backups and bring up strategy (depending on SLA).
Support the development team in coordinating sample data, XML files, API pay loads, messaging requirements.
Support Product Owner or on occasions acting as Product Owner to develop Requirements Management Plan, prioritise requirements, user stories, estimation (story points) and manage product related artefacts.
Work with the UI/ UX graphics design teams to design and develop wireframes, and user interfaces for the system and mobile applications.
Support the development of test cases/ scripts for UAT, test strategies and assist with testing activities where applicable for requirements delivery.
Support Project Manager in weekly project updates, RAID, and resource planning.
Support the creation of user training documentation, and conducting formal end user training for new solutions or upgrades.
Escalate project risks to project manager and identify mitigation actions.
Non IT Business Analysis activities:
Develop service and market reports (excel) on current trends for Senior managers.
Perform Market Share analysis, changes and trends and giving recommendations for entry into new markets (geographic expansion).
Work with external agencies and data suppliers for acquisition of high quality and accurate data.
Support in RFQ and Tender/ RFP process to gain new business.
Team/ Line Management and BA Centre of Excellence development:
Maintain relationships with HR/ internal Resourcing team/ external recruitment agencies to recruit and employ high calibre employees within budget, headcount levels including non permanent labour staff.
Monthly regular one-to-ones with direct reports.
Manage employees by coaching, mentoring, and their personal development needs (trainings, events, seminars)
Maintain skills matrix of BA’s that can be assigned (resource utilisation) to works portfolio when free capacity is available to maximise department’s revenue.
Overseeing new employee onboarding into the team by introducing to team members, any software/ hardware requirements, ID pass, policies, procedures etc.
Ensure that performance reviews are operated in line with department guidelines, including calibration meetings with peers.
Manage all departmental HR issues including monitoring absenteeism and managing any capability and disciplinary issues.
Manage departments overall corporate objectives of achieving timesheet, online trainings, absenteeism, health and well being goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Develop BA Centre of Excellence by:
Developing and maintaining SharePoint site so new BAs can be onboarded.
Maintain a BA document template register
Maintain BA knowledge library.
Hold Lunch & Learn sessions so BAs can share experience and learnings from various projects.
