    • Network Engineering Remote, working core EST hours About the Team The College Board Network Engineering Team is a dedicated team of 3 engineers responsible for design, engineering and operations of the entire network infrastructure.
    We ensure connectivity across cloud providers (AWS and Azure), SaaS, data center and office locations. We also provide services for our voice platform and contact center solutions in AWS. We work closely with information security and infrastructure teams as part of the broader InfoSec and Infrastructure organization. We pride ourselves on service availability, continuous improvement and responding quickly to our internal customer needs. We work 100% remotely, with team members across the US.

    About the Opportunity As Senior Network Cloud Engineer, you'll develop and implement innovative solutions to modernize College Board's network infrastructure, voice and cloud infrastructure technologies.

    You will lead through the three phases of design, development and deployment of technology and services related to the Network Engineering program and surrounding services and capabilities.

    You will work collaboratively across the Technology organization to support the network infrastructure initiatives.

    You are an innovative engineer who will help in advancing the overall maturity of the network engineering program at College Board.


    In this role, you will:

    Design and Implementation (70%) Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to develop, test, and deploy network architectures within major cloud providers including AWS and Azure.

    Design and implement a highly redundant WAN connecting cloud providers, SaaS, on-prem footprint, and College Board office locations. Identify cloud solutions/services to improve cloud architecture. Support the architecture, design, and implementation of on-prem and cloud security. Support AWS Cloud services including Amazon Connect, AWS Transit Gateway, IPAM etc. Participate in Enterprise Architectural Review Committee (EARC) to get approval on network architectures. Apply your comprehensive knowledge of network and technologies including routing, switching, firewalls, network monitoring and management. Identify and resolve network related issues and be on 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure continuous network support. Craft and report on meaningful metrics to show progress toward goals and drive future work. Collaborate with peers across the Technology organization on new network architectures and initiatives. Team Operations & Success (25%) Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to team deliverables. Design, development, and deployment of Network Engineering program capabilities. Prioritizing work and working with leadership to develop roadmaps. Working with cross-functional teams to further the growth of the program and align stakeholders to program changes.


    About You You have:
    5+ years of Network Engineering experience, including 3+ years with cloud and automation experience.

    Strong technical proficiency and hands-on experience with a mix of AWS cloud services including Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Gateway Load Balancer (GWLB), IPAM, Network Manager, CloudWatch, Amazon Connect, NAT/Internet Gateway.

    Experience with version control using Git, test automation, and experience provisioning and managing Cloud Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and/or AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).

    Strong knowledge of SD-WAN and DNS technologies. Experience with network monitoring platforms including SolarWinds and Sumo Logic.

    Strong knowledge of network and security technologies including routing, switching, wireless, and firewalls in a multi-vendor environment including Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet etc.

    Strong knowledge of Layer 2, 3 and 4 protocols spanning TCP/IP, UDP, NAT, Spanning tree, 802.1x, LacP. Experience deploying SaaS based VOIP solutions or willingness to learn. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Authorization to work in the U.S.

    We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact. The salary range for a new employee in this position is $144,000 to $157,000. The salary offer of an individual candidate within this range is specific to their location and qualifications. Each salary offer is determined carefully using internal and external benchmarking and adjusting for the candidate's location.
