About Hossein Mehri:
I am a PhD candidate in communication systems at Boise State University's electrical and computer engineering department. I am currently working on machine learning algorithms and their applications in time-series prediction in next-generation wireless networks. I obtained a thorough understanding of the concepts and mathematics of Machine Learning (time-series prediction, image processing, etc.), Software Defined Networking and Network Function Virtualization (SDN/NFV), and Network Coding through coursework and related projects during my PhD and Masters.
Moreover, I worked as a Back-Office engineer in the telecom industry, where I was responsible on maintenance of Huawei and Ericsson nodes and writing health check, data extraction, and site definition scripts. There I learned valuable technical skills in script writing, debugging, problem solving, troubleshooting, optimization, programming, management, and customer service, as well as soft skills such as teamworking, knowledge sharing, stress management, and time management.
