- Oversee a team of three professionals
- Responsible for running the month-end close process, which includes ensuring journal entries and account analysis are prepared timely and accurately
- Execute inventory analysis and reconciliations, while partnering with the manufacturing team on standard costing and physical inventories
- Complete fixed asset analysis and reconciliations including inventory transfers to fixed assets
- Ensure capital spending is in accordance with accounting guidelines and planned spending levels
- Oversee and validate the proper recognition of revenue across all business units and product lines
- Participate and/or lead technical accounting matters
- Assist with the interpretation and implementation of new accounting standards
- Develop accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure an effective internal control environment
- Active participation in the annual audit, partner with external resources to prepare audit schedules and analysis
- Assist with the company's financial reporting process
- Support the preparation of US tax returns and provision
- Provide backup support and guidance to all AP and AR functions
- Perform system implementations as requested by management
- Minimum of 5 or more years of relevant experience in corporate accounting is necessary
- Industry background from manufacturing, medical devices, consumer wholesale, and or corporate retail/ecommerce.
- Preferably have worked at either of the top ten national public accounting firms at some point, but not necessary.
- Minimum of 2 or more years reporting to private equity backed management is preferred
- Knowledgeable of Cost Accounting is perk, but not necessary
- Familiar with Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor and/or other accounting reporting systems is strongly preferred
- Have streamlined accounting implementation is strong perk, but not necessary
- Detail-oriented with significant emphasis on accuracy and adherence to procedure and controls
