The successful Regional Sales Manager acts as a solution provider to their current and potential clients to strengthen relationships and increase opportunities for Mallard Creek Polymers in their regions.

    What you do: As a Regional Sales Manager you are responsible to:
    • Understand, manage, and provide solutions to problems identified at assigned customers.
      • Understand a wide variety of product applications and uses.
      • Research and communicate market intelligence.
      • Collaborate with internal resources to provide potential solutions to customers.
    • Search for new business and expand new business potential.
      • Nurture leads in territory to develop sales to new prospects.
      • Maintain and develop existing relationships at accounts while identifying and building new ones.
      • Organize customer visits.
      • Attend industry trade shows and seminars.
    • Project and achieve monthly/annual sales objectives/goals for territory and by specific customer.
    • Provide all information required for demand planning, value growth pipeline and call reports.
    • Collaborate with technical staff, purchasing, supply chain and leaders at new and assigned accounts.

    What we need:

    What we Need:

    The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for managing accounts in a geographic and/or market territory to promote growth in sales and customer knowledge of Mallard Creek Polymers emulsion products; coordinate and utilize technical service and other company resources to build rapport with customers and increase business for existing and new products on a regular basis. They must successfully investigate and build new sales through innovative ideas; maintain correspondence and customer contact, continually develop new contacts within accounts assigned.

    Skills and Qualifications:
    • Must be able to travel as needed to maintain and build relationships within their region.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge, business acumen, and understanding of chemicals. Experience in the polymer emulsions industry is an advantage.
    • Excellent negotiation skills and organizational partnering skills are required to manage internal and external relationships.
    • Possess the ability to understand, coordinate, and participate in problem resolution activities of both the internal and external partners and customers.
    • Must be able to work independently to manage the sales cycle for multiple accounts in the territory.
    • Must be organized and able to multi-task to manage the sales pipeline.
    • Must be able to navigate various plant and customer sites during tours and facility visits.
    • Must live within the assigned region (Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, or Ohio)
    Education and Experience:
    • B.A./B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related technical field is preferred.
    • 5+ years' experience in specialty chemical sales, with preference to experience in water-based formulations.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
    • JD Edwards and/or Salesforce software experience is a plus.
    Work Location: Remote from Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, or Ohio

    Travel: Frequent Travel to customer locations, MCP sites as needed

    Job Type/Department: Full Time - Direct Hire / Corporate Admin

    Reports To: Sales and Marketing Director
